WATCH FOR OUR THOUGHTS ON THE DEPARTURE OF DANIEL PODENCE TO SAUDI PRO LEAGUE TEAM AL SHABAB
Wolves forward Daniel Podence has finalised his transfer to Al Shabab. Earlier media reports suggested that the 28-year-old might leave the club this summer due to interest from his former team Olympiacos in Greece.
Instead, Podence has opted for a move to the Saudi Pro League, concluding his four-year tenure at Wolves. The transfer deal is valued at €6 million (£5m; $6.6m), with an additional €1 million contingent on performance. Wolves also retain a 35% sell-on fee clause.
Podence initially joined Wolves from Olympiacos in 2020, recording 16 goals and nine assists over 108 matches in the Premier League. This season, he appeared in three games for Wolves, contributing an assist in their 2-0 League Cup win against Burnley.
During the 2023-24 season, he returned to Olympiacos on a one-year loan, where he netted 15 goals and provided 13 assists in 47 appearances. His efforts helped the team claim the UEFA Conference League title with a 1-0 victory over Fiorentina in the Athens final.
Podence took to social media after sealing his move to Al Shabab thanking both Wolves and Olympiacos.
