It’s time to gear up for Match Week 7 of the Premier League, and as always, we’re diving into all the fixtures and results from the previous week. Emma continues to dominate with her predictions, but could this be the week Dave finally pulls it back? If last week’s banter and scores are anything to go by, it’s looking more likely that Emma’s going to run away with it again! But we’ll find out by the end of this post.
Welcome back, everyone, to our weekly football fan action, where we break down each fixture, share our thoughts, and predict the scores. It’s always a rollercoaster, but more importantly, it’s fun. Let’s get into it!
Who Won Match Week 6?
First things first, let’s talk about who won in Week 6. Spoiler: It’s Emma… again. The gap is getting bigger between the two of them, and yes, Dave isn’t too pleased about it! While Emma continues to remain laser-focused, Dave’s current form is much like Wolves’—barely scraping through. Emma finished the week with an incredible eight correct predictions, including wins for Arsenal and Bournemouth, missing out only on Newcastle drawing with Man City and Forest failing to beat Fulham.
Dave, on the other hand, got a grand total of two fixtures correct last week (ouch). If he’s going to stop this Emma-winning hype train, he’ll need to fully turn it around in Week 7—otherwise, it’s going to be tough.
Let’s turn our attention to the next set of predictions and whether this could be the week Dave claws back some dignity.
Crystal Palace vs Liverpool (Early Kickoff – Saturday)
Emma’s prediction: 2-0 to Liverpool
Dave’s prediction: 3-1 to Liverpool
Emma’s gone for a routine win for Liverpool against a struggling Palace side, and it’s tough to argue with that. Palace have had a rough go of it this season, particularly at home, and Liverpool will be looking to keep the pressure on at the top. There’s no room for slip-ups here, and both Dave and Emma see the Reds coming out strong.
Arsenal vs Southampton
Emma’s prediction: 3-0 to Arsenal
Dave’s prediction: 5-0 to Arsenal
Arsenal haven’t been at their best recently, but Southampton are lacking teeth. Emma’s going for a comfortable home win, while Dave is feeling even more confident, predicting a massive 5-0 hammering. Both predict Arsenal will turn their head to head record around, and with the Gunners having failed to win their last three against the Saints, Arteta’s men are surely due a bounce-back.
Brentford vs Wolves
Emma’s prediction: 2-1 to Wolves
Dave’s prediction: ???
Ah, Wolves… They haven’t won a single game this season, but Emma remains hopeful, predicting a narrow win for the team. With Brentford having more than a few injury concerns, could it finally be Wolves’ chance for 3 points? Dave has kept his prediction under wraps for now—be sure to tune into the preview show to find out whether he’s as confident as Emma.
Leicester vs Bournemouth
Emma’s prediction: 1-1 draw
Dave’s prediction: 1-1 draw
Both Emma and Dave have gone for a draw in this one. After Bournemouth’s recent win over Southampton, they might be looking to build on that momentum, but Leicester won’t roll over on their home turf. Both are playing it safe with a draw prediction, but don’t be surprised if Bournemouth sneak a win here.
Manchester City vs Fulham
Emma’s prediction: 2-1 to Manchester City
Dave’s prediction: 3-0 to Manchester City
While Emma respects Fulham’s decent start to the season, she still sees Pep’s City side edging out a 2-1 win. Dave is less generous toward Fulham, predicting a comfortable 3-0 victory for the Citizens, especially with Haaland finding his feet again.
West Ham vs Ipswich Town
Emma’s prediction: 2-2 draw
Dave’s prediction: 0-0 draw
Has Lady Luck been kind enough to Ipswich? Emma expects an exciting 2-2 game, while Dave doesn’t see fireworks here. He’s gone for a stalemate, which won’t benefit either side much but could keep the Hammers out of further trouble. Julen Lopetegui needs something, but will the irons in the fire be enough?
Everton vs Newcastle
Emma’s prediction: 2-1 to Newcastle
Dave’s prediction: 3-1 to Newcastle
Newcastle may have been inconsistent, but Emma and Dave both think they’ll take down Sean Dyche’s Everton. Emma sees it being a tight contest, while Dave is banking on extra firepower, predicting a 3-1 win for the Magpies. Everton fans may not be too happy reading this, but right now, Newcastle look like the more solid side.
Sunday’s Fixtures
Aston Villa vs Manchester United
Emma’s prediction: 3-1 to Aston Villa
Dave’s prediction: 2-1 to Aston Villa
Villa are a team who will be fighting for revenge, having been beaten twice by United last season. With Man United looking shaky at best, both Emma and Dave predict an Aston Villa win to add more pressure to Ten Hag, especially after midweek European duties for both clubs.
Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest
Emma’s prediction: 2-1 to Chelsea
Dave’s prediction: 2-0 to Chelsea
Chelsea seem to be sorting themselves out, and Forest, while solid, may struggle to contain them at Stamford Bridge. Emma and Dave both see Chelsea taking the win here, though Emma thinks Forest might get themselves on the scoreboard.
Brighton vs Tottenham
Emma’s prediction: 1-1 draw
Dave’s prediction: 3-3 draw
Both Emma and Dave smell goals here. Brighton and Spurs are both sides that play with high energy and an attacking mindset. Emma just sees a 1-1 draw, staying cautious, but Dave’s predicting a thrilling 3-3 scoreline to finish Match Week 7 in style.
