Premier League Week 8 Predictions: Will Wolves Bounce Back?
It’s back! Premier League Week 8 is here. As always, there’s excitement, anticipation and, honestly, a bit of dread depending on who your team’s facing. In this post, we dive into the latest Premier League match predictions and share a new game opportunity you won’t want to miss. You’ll see how you can compete directly against us too!
Without any further delay, let’s jump into this week’s predictions.
Reliving Week 7 Results
Before we look forward to the upcoming fixtures, let’s have a quick recap of the results from Week 7. In one word? Painful. It wasn’t a glorious week for Dave or Emma (she fared no better, which is a rare change). Despite our less-than-stellar predictions, some results were honestly out of left field.
Let’s Talk Predictions for Week 8
We’ve got some spicy matchups on the table, and there’s certainly no holding back from Emma and Dave.
But, without further delay, on to the predicted results for Match Week 8!
Tottenham Hotspur vs. West Ham
- Emma’s prediction: Spurs 2-1 West Ham
- Dave’s prediction: Spurs 2-1 West Ham
Tottenham are coming off a shaky loss, blowing a two goal lead against Bristol and will need to close out the game stronger this time. Both predict that West Ham will put up a good fight, but they’re both backing Spurs to edge it. Interesting.
Fulham vs. Aston Villa
- Emma’s prediction: Aston Villa 2-0 Fulham
- Dave’s prediction: Fulham 2-2 Aston Villa
Emma’s confident that Villa will hold Fulham to a clean sheet while continuing their unbeaten streak. Dave’s not so sure about that; he’s expecting more goals and a Fulham fightback to share the points.
Ipswich vs. Everton
- Emma’s prediction: Ipswich 2-2 Everton
- Dave’s prediction: Ipswich 2-1 Everton
It’s all about defensive struggles in this match – with both Ipswich and Everton leaking goals this season. Emma sees it ending in an eventful draw, while Dave reckons Ipswich will clinch their first win of the season.
Manchester United vs. Brentford
- Emma’s prediction: Manchester United 2-1 Brentford
- Dave’s prediction: Manchester United 2-0 Brentford
Brentford just smashed five goals past Wolves, but both Emma and Dave think it says more about Wolves than Brentford. They’re favouring a United win at Old Trafford, but Dave’s gone for a slightly more confident 2-0, expecting United to put in a solid shift.
Newcastle United vs. Brighton
- Emma’s prediction: Newcastle 2-1 Brighton
- Dave’s prediction: Newcastle 1-1 Brighton
At home, Emma is backing Newcastle to edge a tough game against flying Brighton. Meanwhile, Dave is leaning toward a more cautious draw.
Southampton vs. Leicester
- Emma’s prediction: Leicester 2-0 Southampton
- Dave’s prediction: Southampton 1-0 Leicester
Leicester got a vital win last time out, and Emma thinks they’ll carry that momentum forward against struggling Southampton. Dave, however, sees a rare win coming Southampton’s way, which, for the sake of Wolves, he hopes doesn’t happen!
Bournemouth vs. Arsenal
- Emma’s prediction: Arsenal 3-1 Bournemouth
- Dave’s prediction: Arsenal 3-0 Bournemouth
Bournemouth’s struggles will continue based on both our pundits’ predictions, with Arsenal comfortably taking all three points. The Gunners might not even need to break much of a sweat against the Cherries.
Wolves vs. Manchester City
- Emma’s prediction: Manchester City 3-1 Wolves
- Dave’s prediction: Catch his full match analysis in the preview later.
In what can only be described as heart-breaking for us Wolves fans, even Emma knows we might not have much of a chance against a formidable City. Dave’s holding back from making his prediction just yet, hinting at a fence-sitting approach between heart and mind… Will O’Neil pull a masterclass out of his back pocket? Don’t hold your breath, folks.
Liverpool vs. Chelsea
- Emma’s prediction: Liverpool 2-2 Chelsea
- Dave’s prediction: Liverpool 1-1 Chelsea
A spicy clash between two of the big dogs. Emma thinks there’ll be goals aplenty and goes for a 2-2 draw. Dave, though, is less optimistic on that front, predicting Liverpool and Chelsea to keep things tight in a one-all split.
Nottingham Forest vs. Crystal Palace
- Emma’s prediction: Nottingham Forest 2-0 Crystal Palace
- Dave’s prediction: Nottingham Forest 2-1 Crystal Palace
Forest should be able to hold their own at home, and neither Emma nor Dave are giving Crystal Palace much of a look-in. Both are backing a Forest victory, but with Dave expecting Palace to at least pinch a goal.
