A draw that feels like a loss.
Nothing to really say about the first half apart from it was awful but Armstrong gave us a great goal and a glimmer of hope.
Second half they ramped it up and really went for it. The substitutions made a great impact. Nice goal from Tolu.
Now they have a good bit of time off to sort out the issues and come back to finish the season with a huge boost of significance.

From where I was watching, it felt like a proper game of two halves. In the first half we were well off it and Brentford punished us, going 2–0 up and looking comfortable. At that point it felt like it could be a long evening, but Armstrong pulling one back before half-time gave us a bit of belief and changed the feel of it.
Second half we were a completely different side. We showed some real fight, pushed them back and Arokodare’s header for 2–2 was fully deserved. In truth we even had chances to nick it after that.
Given where we are in the table, the easy thing would be to roll over at 2–0 down but the lads didn’t. For me it showed proper character, and in the end it’s a point that felt well earned after a tough start but in reality it’s sadly coming too late and we needed all 3 points.

I think tonight was, again, a game of two halves.
We were losing possession, looked shaky in defence, and let them control the game through midfield.
Brentford’s two goals came from sloppy errors, caused by us losing our man and poor back-post defending.
When we did get forward, with Bellegarde the only one really providing anything in the first half, we didn’t look too bad. But why were we putting crosses into open space?
Armstrong came to life after his goal, which was a good finish. From the off in the second half, we came out with more grit and determination, and the subs (Angel Gomes and Tolu) changed the game. We had more possession, started playing attacking football, and took control.
We had some bad luck hitting the post and the crossbar, with the game there for the taking.
Rodrigo Gomes is a player I feel should be getting minutes, but he was brought on too late again, when we were looking for miracles and the momentum had dropped.
Performance rating: 6/10
MOTM: Armstrong, for his first goal for the club.
Best moment: Hearing our fans after the equaliser.

Where was this fight at the beginning of the season?
Because the second half at Brentford showed exactly what this Wolves side can be when they play with courage and intent. At 2-0 down it would have been easy to fold, especially away from home, but we didn’t. We got in their faces, we kept the ball better, and we actually asked questions. That comeback tells you there is spirit in this squad. It just feels like we only find it once the damage is already done.
The frustration is that the problems were the same old ones. Sloppy defending cost us again. We lost runners, we didn’t deal with the back post, and we let Brentford’s crosses turn into clear chances.
And that’s why the draw feels both encouraging and annoying. Encouraging because we showed character and quality to get level. Annoying because with a bit more consistency, we could have taken all three points. We hit the woodwork, we had moments where Brentford looked rattled, and the winner was there.
A point away is not a bad result on paper. But this season has taught us that “not bad” isn’t always enough. Why can’t we bring that second-half intensity from the first whistle?

This was a game we knew we had to get something from. But the way we started, we looked cagey and nervous. We created very little in the first half and put the pressure on ourselves to sort it out.
The main issue, again, is that we keep giving teams the first goal. Deja vu happened once more. Brentford found gaps in our shape, delivered good crosses, and took their chances. Suddenly, we were two goals down.
To our credit, we didn’t fold. We got back into the game when Armstrong scored his first goal for the club after a good bit of link-up play with Bellegarde. We may also have had a bit of luck in the build-up, with a back pass to Jose Sa in the build up,
The second half was excellent. We created chances and looked like a team hunting an equaliser. Our play was sharper, we pushed Brentford back, and we gave them the scare we needed to give them.
Then came the deserved equaliser from Tolu. What a substitution from Rob. He came on and made an instant impact, scoring to make it 2-2. After that, we were on a high and pushed for a winner. We were so close when Tolu hit the bar. What a goal that would have been, and what a moment it could have been in the fight to stay up.
Overall, I’m proud of the team tonight. We didn’t lose, and we showed real character and spirit against a side that is tough to beat. Now we have 25 days until the next game. It’s a chance to reset, shake things up, and see what the teams above us do. We have to hope results go our way, but I still believe we are in with a chance of survival.

I’m honestly getting tired of these two-half performances.
We seem to save our best football for the second half. I don’t know what happens in the first, but we keep starting games on the back foot.
Rob Edwards made four changes. Some worked, some didn’t, and I guess that’s what you get with rotation, but we can’t keep giving teams a head start.
Man of the match: Tolu. Instant impact off the bench. He has to be part of the plan next season.

Second half: 9/10
Bring on West Ham (April 10).
