First Meetings

Division 2 – The first meeting of the two clubs in Division 2 was on the 25th September 1976 the game finished 2-1 to Luton Town at Molineux.

Division 1 – The first meeting of the two clubs in Division 1 was on the 5th November 1955 the game finished 5-1 to Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.

Wolves 2 Luton Town 1 13th January 2006 in Championship at Molineux

Luton started the game with a shot by Showunmi which went straight at the goalkeeper Postma from distance.

Kennedy tried from distance as well for Wolves but that too went straight at goalkeeper Beresford.

Nothing much else happened in the game and it was 0-0 at halftime.

12 minutes in to the second half of the game a Kennedy cross went to Clarke who chested it down who then shot straight at the goalkeeper Beresford who only parried it to Davies on his debut who hit his shot into the back of the net to give Wolves the lead 1-0

10 minutes left on the clock Luton were given a free kick in a dangerous position and this was taken it hit the wall only cleared as far a midfielder unmarked who then crossed the ball into box went towards Howard who headed in the equaliser to make it 1-1.

Then in 88th minute of the game Wolves got the winner of the game when Ince hit a shot from distance that went in the back of the net to make it 2-1 to Wolves.

Full time whistle came, and Wolves got the 3 points.

A little more history...

Wolves 5 Luton Town 2 31st March 1975 in Division One at Molineux

The 7th Minute goal scored by Willie Carr was scored directly from a corner.

Luton then scored in the 15th minute from Seasman and the 30th Minute from J Ryan to make the game 2-1 to Luton Town.

Wolves then scored in the 32nd minute with Kenny Hibbitt from a penalty after a handball by West and then took the lead in the 42nd minute when Hibbitt got his 2nd goal of the game to make the game 3-2 at halftime.

The 57th minute of the Kenny Hibbitt got his hat trick in the game.

The 60th minute of the Peter With finished the scoring in the game and it finished 5-2 to Wolves.

Last League Meeting

Wolves 1 Luton 0 26th August 2006 in Championship at Molineux

Carl Cort had chances early in the first half of the game making two chances one drawing a save from the visiting goalkeeper Marlon Beresford and the other one with a header that went wide of the goal.

But in the second half of the game Wolves managed to take the lead of the game when Cort’s flick on to Johnson who went on to beat Beresford with a low shot that went in off the post to make it 1-0 to Wolves.

Luton had few chances in the game, but their new player Sam Parkin had a penalty claim in the second half, but this was turned down by the referee.

Johnson had another effort in the game, but his shot went straight at the goalkeeper Beresford, but Wolves held on to win this game 1-0.
