Jose Sa: 6.5
Could maybe have positioned himself better for the goal, but he made the save of the night from Mosquera’s near own goal. Made several solid stops and kept us in it.
Matt Doherty: 7
Led the side well and did a good job in a centre-half role. Steady, experienced, and important in earning the point.
Yerson Mosquera: 7.5
Very lucky not to score an own goal, and also had a foul throw, but his defending overall was strong. He stood up well under pressure.
Ladislav Krejci: 7.5
A big equaliser and another strong defensive display. Put his body on the line, showed leadership again, and nearly scored a second.
Hugo Bueno: 6
Not as sharp as he was against Liverpool, which is understandable after coming back from injury. Still had moments, including a chance to score.
Jackson Tchatchoua: 6.5
Deserved his start and made some good runs at United’s defence. Needs more end product, especially with his crosses.
Joao Gomes: 7.5
Covered huge ground and gave everything. Missed Andre’s presence, but coped well and stayed influential throughout.
John Arias: 6.5
Out of position at times and did not always track back well. Won a few fouls, worked hard, and nearly scored, but he still needs a boost in confidence.
Hwang Hee-chan: 6
At fault in the build-up to United’s goal and did not do enough in key moments. Still feels short of confidence.
Matheus Mane: 8 (Player of the Match)
Changed the feel of this team since arriving. Direct, brave, and always looking to make something happen. Exactly the kind of energy we need right now.
Tolu Arokodare: 6.5
Some useful hold-up play, but he should have done better with a big chance. A little unlucky to be taken off because he can help us up the pitch.
Substitutes
Jorgen Strand Larsen: 6
Did not make much impact and picked up an unnecessary late yellow.
Fer Lopez: N/A
David Moller Wolfe: N/A
MANAGER Rob Edwards: 8
He will be pleased. The set-up worked, the performance was brave, and he has his first point on the board. Now the job is to build on it.
Conclusion
Another goal, another point, and a performance we can grow from. If we keep building the side around Mane’s threat and maintain this shape, a win feels closer. The momentum has to carry into the next game.
