Pedro Neto set for medical at Chelsea

Chelsea have reached a £54 million agreement with Wolves for Portuguese forward Pedro Neto. Neto is set to undergo a medical before completing his transfer to Stamford Bridge ahead of the Premier League’s kick-off.

The 24-year-old was previously approached by Tottenham during the transfer window and also attracted interest from Manchester City and Liverpool. After having their initial offer rejected, Chelsea managed to successfully negotiate a deal for the former Braga winger on Friday.

Overview of the Transfer Deal

Chelsea secured Pedro Neto’s services for a significant fee, reflecting not only the player’s potential but the competitive nature of the Premier League. The agreed transfer fee is £51.4 million upfront, with a further £2.5 million structured in achievable bonuses.

Enzo Maresca will include Neto in his squad for the upcoming season, where he will compete for a starting position alongside Cole Palmer, Raheem Sterling, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Noni Madueke in the wide roles. Neto has been on the radar of top Premier League clubs since joining Wolves, though injuries have limited his impact.

Why This Matters for Wolves

For Wolves fans, this deal is a bittersweet moment. On one hand, the club receives a substantial financial boost. This influx of cash can be pivotal in reinforcing the squad or developing future stars. However, losing Neto, a talented and promising winger, means the club must find a way to fill the void left by his departure.
