Craig Hickey gives his player ratings for Wolves 4-2 triumph against Spurs

An unchanged lineup from Vitor, admidst all the furore regarding Cunha, he returns only to the bench, Doyle is out, as is Johnstone.

Sa – 7

A great one handed save after we scored, his distribution was better. Looked more assured. I don’t think he had much chance with the two goals, a great save in the lead up to the second was as much as he could do. He is gaining in confidence as the team in front of him are protecting him, albeit not so much it may be said in the last two games.

Doherty – 6.5
He was up against a tricky Tel who made life a bit difficult at times, showed his experience by not getting turned. Came off a half time, not sure why at this stage. Prior to this he was quite solid, linking up well with Semedo and Agbadou. Replaced by Santi Bueno at half time.

Semedo – 6.5
Ran the channels well, always available for Sa and the midfield to pass to during a solid first half.  He stuck out a leg for a cross for the first Spurs goal and was unfortunate with a deflection that went in from him. He was simple with his passing and didn’t get out run too much, although perhaps he played a deeper role when Doc went off.

Agbadou – 7.5
Solid again, one slip caused a break on goal and a really poor ball across his box was nearly punished by Richarlison, apart from that he was his usual immense rock at the back. I’m sure you all noticed the unusual sprinters leg stretching to get to Johnson in the second half, he won the ball as well, his range of long diagonal passing was excellent today.

Toti – 7.5
Brilliant again at times, last ditch tackles, defensive headers, bursts of silky skills going forward. On one occasion he had to cover a Spurs break, it could have resulted in a one on one, he bided his time and won the ball. He is reveling in the back three and showed a lot of quality today

Andre – 8
He is such a calm player, showed his calmness and the ability to slow things down for us to regroup and attack. It seems like he is just walking around the pitch but his vison and combative side shone again today, simple 5 yard passes a feature of his game. I don’t think he gave the ball away in the game, it would be interesting to see his passing percentages, high 90’s I suspect.

J Gomes – 8.5
The man is a massive talent and critical to the spine of this team. He tackled, passed and ran for every ball. One pass from him long to Ait Nouri was received back on the same byline as he played it out to, what an engine this lad has and he was up there for my Man of the Match. He makes us tick and was involved in everything positive for us today. Taken off on 83 minutes for Hwang.

Rayan Ait Nouri – 8.5 – 👑🅰️⚽,
He had a great game for me today, he got the first goal by waiting on the edge of the box and volleyed the ball into the ground for the first goal after a poor goalkeeper punch. It was his cross into the box hat caused havoc for the 2nd goal. His bursting run on the left and calmness to slot a ball to the far post for Larsen to score the 3rd was excellent, we’ve seen him blast those wide before. I thought his possession and passing was effective and simple, no frills and he defended well all game. His contribution for me deserves my Man of the Match.

Bellegarde – 6.5
Great start, won free kick that led to the 1st goal, the keeper couldn’t cope with it. He was a willing runner today, tigerish in the tackle and full of positive movement. He got a knock late in the 1st half, it was a shame because he was another who grafted and ran his heart out. Replaced by Sarabia on 42 minutes

Munetsi – 7.5
A lot of people don’t take his work rate into consideration, he worked hard today. He was a menace at times, caused the uncertainty for Vicario’s poor punch that led to the goal and perhaps the same can be said of the third goal that led to Spence putting into his own net. he ran all afternoon, creating panic in the Spurs defence when they played out from the back. He is a colossal player behind Larsen and makes room for the striker. He finds players with his passes and he will only get better as he plays more in this league.

Strand Larsen – 7.5 -⚽
Larsen again Ole, Ole. It’s the striker’s 5th goal in 4 games, is it that chat with Bully, is it the link up with Munetsi…..? Who knows but let’s be honest he is stepping up to the challenge, he is closing in on Raul’s figures for a season and today he showed another goal poaching instinct. He could have had two but his similar effort to last week at Ipswich went the wrong side of the post, although we thought in the Steve Bull it had gone in. He will have a few bruises tonight, Romero constantly fouled him. He took his goal well and loved celebrating in front of the South Bank. He made way for Cunha on 70 minutes

Subs:

Cunha – 7 -⚽
I had to give him a high mark as he brought his ‘A’ game when he came on. He caused problems with his running at the defence, hit a free kick just over and made the goal for himself really. The goal came from winning the ball in our half, nicking it past a defender and going clean through on a 1 v 1 with Vicario, he cooly slotted home emphatically and took the acclaim of the South Bank. The celebration looked like an apology for his recent comments and he held the badge tightly, vigorously shaking it. Who knows where he will be next season, we hope its with us and our dreams but that remains to be seen.

Hwang – N/A
Worked hard when he came on, strong with his tackling and hold up play, he did the simple things right and kept it simple for the 11 minutes he was on.

Sarabia – 6.5
Pablo is a sublime talent and today he also did the straightforward things right, always looking for that killer pass, tackled strongly and kept the ball high up the pitch, away from trouble

Djiiga – N/A

Rodrigo Gomes – 6
This kid has got a bright future in the game and hopefully it will be at Molineux where he shows his talent for years to come. He is dangerous going forward but did his defensive duties really well. He is for me going to be a more rounded player than Pedro Neto based on his early promise.

Traore – N/A

Mane – N/A

Santi Bueno – 6.5
A good 45 minutes for Santi, he kept possession well, defended well and linked up with Semedo and Agbadou. It was a straightforward day for him with Solanke but he was a little more active when Spurs attacked the left side in the last 15 minutes.

Bentley – N/A
