CRAIG HICKEY SHARES HIS PLAYER RATINGS
Sam Johnstone – 8
Sam deserved his chance and showed his qualities today. Calmness, organising and distribution was excellent. Stunning one handed save in the 57th minute, it was world class.
Jackson Tchatchuoa – 6.5
One blip which nearly cost us but the first half he saw a lot of the ball. The one breakaway he had saw us have a 5 v 2 but his ball on was a little bit too early. I thought he switched for the quick corner that led to their equaliser.
Santi Bueno – 7.5
So solid in the back 4, he has benefitted so much from playing alongside Krejci. He made plenty of interceptions and key tackles, his distribution was very good, nothing fancy, just simple.
Ladislav Krejci – 8
This bloke oozes class and calmness, his passes range from simple to sublime at times. His positions all game were spot on and he showed leadership and strength throughout the game.
Hugo Bueno – 7
An outlet on the left, a few good balls into the box, solid defensively with back up from Hwang. Nearly got an assist in the second half with a great cut back for Arias, who blazed it over. Subbed in 76th minute.
Andre – 8.5 Man of the Match
A solid figure in the centre of the park, tigerish, aggressive with a calm side in his possession of the ball. Cynical yellow in injury time, took one for the team with a shirt pull. He was excellent today.
Joao Gomes – 8
His energy levels are outstanding, never stops running, tackling and always looking for his mate, Andre. He was everywhere again, unfazed by his yellow card, he still gave everything. Subbed in 90th minute.
Marshall Munetsi – 7.5
Took his goal excellently, what a finish. He ran all game and a constant presence bombing forward. A strong performance from him with some nasty tackles made on him. Tired towards the end. Subbed in 90th minute.
Jhon Arias – 7
He was defensively excellent today, tracking back, looking for space and opportunities to break forward. Missed a glorious chance for 2-0 in the 57th minute but blazed over.
Jorgen Strand Larsen – 6.5
It was a difficult afternoon for him against two big centre backs. Early in the 2nd half he held up the ball on his own, it led to an Arias chance. Hit the post with a lovely solo run and deft shot. Came off in 76th minute.
Hee Chan Hwang – 6.5
Hee Chan put himself about today, things didn’t always come off but he was busy, missing one shot from outside the area. Defensively worked hard, came off in 59th minute.
SUBS
Emmanuel Agbadou (59th) – 5 Dropped into defence, didn’t do much wrong, one lung busting run deserved a shot from him at the end he ran into trouble.
Jean Ricner Bellegarde – (76th) – Not enough time to influence the game.
David Moller Wolfe – (76th) – One cross from him today, lost his man for the equaliser.
Tolu Arokkodare– (90th) N/A
Yerson Mosquera – (90th) N/A
There were a few players who could have got Man of the Match – Johnstone, Krejci, Santi Bueno and Joao Gomes. We have to concentrate for 90 minutes but 2 games now and no losses could prove critical later on in the season. Having said that, we need to close out these games and take 3 points.
