Nick Parkes gives his player ratings for Wolves v Leeds

JOSE SA - 5

Never a good day when a keeper concedes 4 but couldn’t have done much with each. Although he might have felt slightly unlucky not to save the 3rd.

NELSON SEMEDO - 4

Very poor positioning and defending which led to the first goal. Was put under pressure from the first minute and didn’t learn. Performed better as the game went on and deserved a penalty in the first half.

MAX KILMAN - 6

Wolves’s second most creative player going forward with one delightful ball across the box which should have led to a goal and also a dazzling run passed several Leeds players. Defensively ok but nothing outstanding.

CRAIG DAWSON - 5

Run of the mill performance, subbed at half time after a booking at the end of the first half.

JONNY OTTO - 2

Despite scoring a quite remarkable goal, Wolves’s worst player this season and worst player today by a mile. Shocking defending for the third goal, trying to be too clever instead of clearing his lines. To top off a poor performance he lunges in with a horrible tackle which resulted a red. Shocking how he gets picked to fight for our survival!

MARIO LEMINA - 4

Unlucky not to get on the end of Kilman’s cross in the first half, and a wonderful last-ditch tackle to prevent Leeds in the second. Surely it was his role to pick up players on the edge of our box for the first goal. Overall a tame performance from a player who has been influential for Wolves of late.

JOAO GOMES - 5

A very decent first start for the Gomes who won the ball back well all over the pitch. A real fighter which Wolves need. However, his defending for Leeds’s second goal cannot be excused. School boy marking led to their player having the key to the city at the back post.

RUBEN NEVES - 6

One of the Wolves’s better players (as usual), some delightful passes to set up creative chances. Wolves lacked his vision when he was subbed off.

PEDRO NETO - 5

Picked up some nice positions and the intent was there. Should have done better with his effort inside the box.

DANIEL PODENCE - 3

Similar to Jonny, another poor performance in a season of poor performances. His ability to change direction is impressive but he’s a one-trick-pony, as everything else he does is useless and wasteful. Too quick to throw his hands about to complain but contributes little to our already weak attack.

RAUL JIMENEZ - 4

A very quiet day for Raul, especially in a game which was so open and Wolves found themselves in promising positions. Needed more from him.

SUBSTITUTES

NATHAN COLLINS - 5

Looked to get Wolves up the pitch which was needed but again, was so prone to mental mistakes. Trying to leave players offside but not fully aware of his surroundings almost cost us.

ADAMA TRAORE - 7 & MAN OF THE MATCH

Another very impressive cameo from Adama. From the first minute he looked threatening and Leeds had little answers to him. Played a beautiful ball to Raul which should have been converted. Maybe could have done more in the build up for the 4th goal but was a clear foul on him.

MATHEUS CUNHA - 6

Obviously happy for him to get off the mark, but without the help of a big deflection, it would have been a tame shot straight at the keeper. Lots of passion, with little produce.

PABLO SARABIA - 4

Provided little and often got caught in positions Adama should be occupying. Really should have scored with his effort in the box. Another Wolves player who lacks any idea of how to put the ball in the net.

JOAO MOUTINHO - 6

Typical performance from him, always looking to get on the ball and be proactive. Too many sidewards passes and picking up the ball too deep though. A position Neves should have done instead.

VAR & OFFICIATING - 0

Although the people in charge were not at fault for Leeds getting the three points. It has to be said that, again, Wolves were extremely hard done by again. Week in week out, we leave a game with a tiny part of our love for the game remaining in the ground because of incompetent refs, who are costing our team dearly. Wolves are struggling for points but as it stands we are fighting in a boxing ring with our hands tied behind our back, constantly being punched in the face and told to accept it. Wolves’s performance was not to the level of what we and they expect, and there is no disguising that, but these decisions change games, and could play a monumental factor in our race for survival.
