MATCHWEEK 11 - WILL WOLVES EVER GET 3 POINTS?
We’re back again with our weekly predictions for the Premier League, and what a ride it’s been so far! It’s already Week 11, and while some teams are flying high, others are struggling to find their feet. If you’ve been following us for the past few weeks, you’ll know how it’s been for Dave and the producer, Emma. But before we jump into our match predictions, let’s address something different this week: our fancy attire!
Yes, you’ve probably noticed we’re dressed to the nines, which has nothing to do with predictions and everything to do with a little game we played on the show—one truth and two lies. Spoiler: we were off to a swanky gala dinner hosted by the Wolves Foundation. Fancy, right? But, back to what we’re really here for—Premier League predictions.
Recap of Last Week’s Predictions
Before we dig into this week’s scores, let’s have a quick look at how Dave miraculously managed to win last week’s prediction battle against Emma. After weeks of being crushed, Dave finally claimed victory with seven points. And let me tell you, it feels good! Emma’s been quite the juggernaut, but this little win has made Dave more hopeful for the weeks ahead (though, let’s not get carried away). Emma still leads the overall score at 8-1, but it’s a start, right?
Now, let’s get to those predictions for this weekend’s matches. Before we do, just remember—there’s a bit of banter here, but it’s all for fun! You can agree or disagree in the comments!
Brentford vs Bournemouth
This match is all about Brentford looking to keep their decent home form going after that huge win over City. Bournemouth might be buzzing after their recent result, but I’m not sure they can continue winning.
Emma’s Prediction: Brentford 2-1 Bournemouth
Dave’s Prediction: Brentford 1-1 Bournemouth
Crystal Palace vs Fulham
Palace have looked solid lately, but Fulham will be hungry for a result. I’m expecting a close match, with both sides working hard for points.
Emma’s Prediction: Fulham 1-0 Palace
Dave’s Prediction: Palace 1-1 Fulham
West Ham vs Everton
West Ham are much stronger at home, and with Everton struggling on the road, it feels like a straightforward result for me. Julen Lopetegui will want an assured performance. Are Everton reliable away from Goodison? Not likely.
Emma’s Prediction: West Ham 2-1 Everton
Dave’s Prediction: West Ham 1-0 Everton
Wolves vs Southampton
As much as it pains me, seeing Wolves keep a clean sheet seems a distant memory… but we’re up against Southampton, so you never know. Both teams desperately need points, and I reckon it could be an incredibly tight game.
Emma’s Prediction: Wolves 1-1 Southampton
Dave’s Prediction: You’ll have to wait for the preview!
Brighton vs Manchester City
City haven’t lost four games in a row under Pep Guardiola—ever! Surely they’ll be looking to bounce back here, but then again, Brighton can be full of surprises.
Emma’s Prediction: City 2-1 Brighton
Dave’s Prediction: Brighton 2-2 City
Liverpool vs Aston Villa
Liverpool hosting at Anfield against Villa—this feels like it could either be a goal fest or a comfortable performance from the Reds. I’ve got faith in Liverpool to get over the line easily.
Emma’s Prediction: Liverpool 3-1 Villa
Dave’s Prediction: Liverpool 2-0 Villa
Manchester United vs Leicester
It’s Van Nistelroy’s last match in charge of Manchester United, and I think they’ll just about get the job done. Leicester, though, they’re quite scrappy right now, so this could be tighter than you think.
Emma’s Prediction: United 2-1 Leicester
Dave’s Prediction: United 3-0 Leicester
Nottingham Forest vs Newcastle
Forest are doing well under faith in their manager, and Newcastle haven’t exactly been on top form themselves. This one feels like it could easily end in a draw, and I’m going for that.
Emma’s Prediction: Forest 2-1 Newcastle
Dave’s Prediction: Forest 1-1 Newcastle
Tottenham Hotspur vs Ipswich Town
Spurs are Emma’s clear favourites here, and she predicts a comfortable 3-1 win. Dave keeps Ipswich at zero and claims Tottenham will walk away with a 3-0 win, tapping into their solid run of form.
Emma’s prediction: 3-1 to Tottenham
Dave’s prediction: 3-0 to Tottenham
Chelsea vs Arsenal
The final game of the weekend could be the most entertaining. Emma foresees a hard-fought 2-1 win for Arsenal. Dave, though, remains undecided on a winner and reckons it’ll be a 1-1 draw in what’s sure to be a closely contested match.
Emma’s prediction: 1-2 to Arsenal
Dave’s prediction: 1-1 draw
