things we learnt from wolves defeat to bournemouth in the fa cup

Tyler Price shares some key things learnt from Wolves FA Cup exit to Bournemouth at The Vitality Stadium

1. Nasser Djiga

Confident display first half, willing to run forward and into space. Very nervous against Bournemouth last weekend but he’s certainly improved for this fixture. Accurate with his passing and is composed in that backline.

2. VAR 19-1

It just has to go hasn’t it. It was brought it and everyone was under the impression it would take just under a minute for an outcome to be shown… It took SEVEN minutes for the Kerkez goal to be ruled off. One minute it’s an offside offence then it’s handball, it was shown live it was “offside” and it then took another further 2 minutes to be disallowed on the pitch. Clubs complaining when it was 19-1 with Wolves the only club voting against it…

3. Matheus Cunha

Brief summary of this man. He’s there again to save the day! 35 yards out what is he thinking… incredible finish and he’s scored AGAIN against Bournemouth. Surfing again ole ole 😉 irreplaceable in the summer when he inevitably leaves unfortunately. But that was cut short until he decides to assault Kerkez!! One of the greatest players this clubs seen wear our badge but he is so, so stupid! Cost this club one of their best chances of a repeat trip to Wembley if we drew the so called “easier” opposition in the next round. Misses crucial season defining games now… he let the club down

4. Vitor Pereira

First half really poor looking like there was zero chance of being in the hat for the next round. Players didn’t look up for the occasion, good substitutions in the second half and bringing on Munetsi for this type of game is something needed, will constantly press and offers both attacking and defensive attributes as he’s a very versatile player. Substituting Joao as he’s on a yellow was necessary and Andre is just Andre.. an absolute gem of a player! Boubacar coming on too and rotating the side cleverly but keeping it strong was perfected by Vitor today. Boubacar played really well and made an account for himself in contention for the first team spot in future.

5. The result

Heartbreak in penalties. One penalty kick away from a quarter final and it’s dragged wide, you just knew it wouldn’t be our day. Cunha is a total embarrassment and he’s cost us a potential dream today
