Lewis Hickey talk wolves 3 Leicester 0 making it 6 wins in a row

Coming off the back of a 1-0 win away at Manchester United, Vitor and the boys can make it six wins in a row for the first time in our history all that stands in the way is an already relegated Leicester city.

First half

A confident opening from Wolves who control the ball for the opening 5 minutes. On 6 minutes Cunha picks up the ball deep and drives his way through 2 Leicester players eventually getting to the edge of the box where he tries to curl one to bottom right corner but it curls wide.

Leicester are playing the ball around and the Leicester fans are chanting olé with every pass until Hermansen passes straight  to Andre who tries to lob him from 40 yards out but it’s wide of the goal.

The game has been very one sided so far with Wolves limiting Leicester to a few counter attacks which the defence has dealt with very well. The only clear cut chance they had in the opening 20 minutes was a Coady header from a corner that was comfortably saved

Wolves starting to push Leicester back with a few crosses to the back post which led to Cunha firing a shot straight at the keeper and on 33 minutes some lovely link up play between Cunha and Ait Nouri leads to him being released down the left hand side of the box where he crosses low to the feet of Cunha who places it low into the bottom corner and Wolves have the lead.

A very straight forward first half for Wolves, well controlled and they created plenty of opportunities to score.

Second half

Andre does very well with 2 Leicester players next to him, he turns in the middle of the pitch and plays it through to Ait Nouri who shoots, it’s blocked and it falls to Cunha. He shoots. Saved by the keeper, it falls back to Ait Nouri who lays it off to Larsen and he scoops it over the bar.

Wolves pushing for the second and Larsen picks up the ball deep and  plays it wide to Cunha who drives forward and then plays a wonderful through ball through to Larsen, he takes a touch and finishes it instinctively. A wonderful goal by the old gold.

After Wolves got their second Leicester came back fighting and on 70 minutes Vardy is played through and is 1v1 against Sa, he tries to go around him but Sa takes him out. After a check on the penalty Vardy steps up to take it and it’s saved by Sa low down to his right. A brilliant save.

Vitor makes some subs to freshen the team up which sees Rayan Ait Nouri, Larsen, Doherty and Andre come off for Sarabia, Rodrigo Gomes, Bueno and Bellegarde.

On 85 minutes Sarabia picks up the ball and finds Cunha who is 1v1 with Coady , Cunha waits for support and Rodrigo Gomes is busting a gut to get into the box. Cunha finds him and he finishes it first time. Another brilliant Wolves move. Game over.

Conor Coady got a very warm welcome back to Molineux with a rendition of his old song.

A rare appearance from Guedes and Forbs for the last five minutes help to see out a 6th win in a row and a 7th unbeaten for Vitor’s Wolves. An assured performance with a touch of class for all 3 goals. Could they possibly make it 7 in a row next week in Manchester…….
