Wolves fans share their thoughts and opinions following Wolves 2-1 win against Bristol City in the FA Cup to progress to the Next round.

A game of two halves.

Always felt that goal on the stroke of half-time would change things and so it proved.

Initially looked like we were going to run out comfortable winners -playing some champagne stuff while we were at it- instead we had to dig in a bit in the second half.

Unlucky with a couple hitting the post, if either of those go in the game is dead, but nowhere near as dominant as in the first-half. Bristol City, to their credit, eventually gave us something to think about at the back.

Once the dust settles it probably serves us better in the long run that they provided a genuine contest in the second half.

The return of Sa, Semedo and Cunha against Newcastle will undoubtably take us up a notch in what will obviously be a much sterner test than today.

Nevertheless, a win is a win and on we go in the cup; a good run-out on the whole.

Another favourable draw will do very nicely.

We are back on track!

Apart from the defeat against Nottingham Forest Pereira has definitely made an impact on the team. The win today is good for us as we are now building up confidence again after an incredible number of losses but… we are going through to the 4th round of the FA cup!!!

We also have Cunha back, in time for the Newcastle game so we have a good chance of getting 3 points that we desperately need to help us get that step closer to being clear of relegation.

Well, we made hard work of that didn’t we, we should’ve been at least 3-0 up at half time and the game should’ve been over.

Second half, we just seemed to lack the pace and movement in the forward areas but we also looked nervous at the back at times. I thought the debut for Agbadou was solid in parts but some of his passing did lack accuracy, that will come in time the more he plays with his new team mates.

Rodrigo Gomes and both Joao and Andre were solid and controlled the midfield for most of the game, it was just down the wings where we struggled. I think you will get games like this against lower league opposition because it’s blood and thunder football, in the Premier League you get a bit more time but you get punished more often when making mistakes.

Overall, we had a good day out. Our fans made themselves heard, we are in the next round and we’ve got a win to boost the morale going into Wednesday’s game up in Newcastle. Always Wolves, Wolves ay We.

It’s good to see Vitor Pereira taking this cup game seriously by fielding a strong line-up.

The first half started well for Wolves as we attacked Bristol City from the kick-off with plenty of possession.

We played a good high-press attacking game with some counter-attacks for good measure, taking our two goals well. Our wing-backs scored the goals that put us ahead.

Guedes had plenty of chances to score but was guilty of fluffing his lines. He needs to improve his finishing.

Pereira is fielding a balanced team with a solid press while assessing his best starting XI for upcoming matches. This shows how well we can attack.

Near the end, we conceded a well-taken free kick. Any goalkeeper would have struggled to save it, making for a nervy second half.

The second half started chaotically for both sides, with moments in both boxes.

Wolves wasted chances in the second half where crosses were good, but the finishing needs to improve.

We could have extended our lead later on, creating chances while our defensive three were hardly troubled by Bristol City. Only near the end did we face some pressure, but we kept a player at the far post to clear the ball, which you wouldn’t have seen in previous games.

We also need to be more clinical in front of goal. This is a small concern, but it’s something we can fix.

We held on for the win and moved into the next round of the cup with a solid performance. We defended well in the second half without much to do. This will boost our confidence under Vitor Pereira after a dominant display, and we need to keep this going.
