WOLVES FANS SHARE THEIR THOUGHTS & OPINIONS FOLLOWING WOLVES 1-0 DEFEAT AT BOURNEMOUTH

GEORGE LAKIN

Didn’t expect anything from today and so it proved.

Glaringly obvious lack of quality in forward areas and shaky at the back- but I feel with the introduction of Andre and more of the same of what we saw at the end of the 1st half we might’ve mustered a point today. However, you just can’t legislate for your skipper getting himself sent off like that a couple of minutes into the second half. Game was dead from then, we did well to give ourselves a chance of a nicking a point right to the end.

I’m not feeling as bleak as many about today though. Bournemouth are a decent side, and in many ways we competed better with them than we did last season.

Jackson looks tidy at RWB to me, and Hugo’s clearly the better of the two LWBs from what I’ve seen so far.

As for the big question: ‘what’s happened to Agbadou?’

We’ve lost two of the best wingbacks in the league.

That’s what’s happened to Agbadou.

In all, I think our physicality and VP’s know-how will win us a fair few games this season, but enough to stay up? I’m not sure.

Without a doubt we need more. Just over a week to go… tick tock Dom, Jeff and Jorge.

In the first half, we didn’t get the start we wanted. We conceded early, and our defence was breached again. We struggled to find any rhythm, making plenty of mistakes.

As the half went on, we started to improve, but Bellegarde had a poor game. He replaced André, who shouldn’t have been dropped, so that change didn’t work. Up front, the delivery wasn’t there, and Larsen looked isolated.

Bournemouth’s press caused us problems, and I remain worried about Agbadou. He wasn’t at the level he showed last season and needs to get more involved. We could easily have been further behind.

The second half began with Vitor making two changes to deal with Bournemouth’s press, which was still causing issues. Then, we went down to 10 men, making our task much harder. It was a poor example from the captain to leave the field like that.

After losing a player, we didn’t create much and barely troubled the Bournemouth keeper. We had midfield problems, with Joao Gomes having to steady the ship almost alone. He had to instruct others despite not being the captain.

I’m really worried about this Wolves team. We have problems creating chances and scoring goals. The quality in the final third is lacking, and some positions clearly need strengthening. The intensity is nowhere near last season’s level. These are serious issues after just two games. We need three new players soon because the squad needs help. The big question is when we will get a win. Hopefully, it will come next weekend. This was a disappointing result to take away, but we have to believe a win will come. It all depends on what happens in the next week with recruitment.

To start, the first half was very poor, with standout bad performances from Bellegarde and Doherty, in my opinion. The midfield looked weak and the defence was shaky, with the only form of attack being long balls to Stand Larsen, hoping for the best. Their goal came from poor defending, and they could have scored another shortly after.

The second half was better but still boring and weak, with no real attacking threat. On top of a soft red card—which I’m not sure was the right call—we surprisingly looked better with ten men, and the new signing Jackson was an improvement on Hoever. Overall, it was a pretty poor performance, with the best player being Jose Sa, who stopped the scoreline from being embarrassing.
