Blackpool wolf & LOUIE LEFEVRE share insights on Wolves loanees.

Another week has passed which means some Wolves players out on loan were able to grab some valuable first team minutes. This week there were also assists, goals and Champions League Football. Wolves will be keen to monitor not only the successful loan spells but also the unsuccessful ones before potentially making any changes in January.

Nigel Lonwijk and Joe Hodge – Huddersfield Town – EFL League One
The loanee pair returned to the Midlands this week when Huddersfield visited St. Andrews on Tuesday in a 1-0 loss to Birmingham City. Lonwijk was an unused substitute against the league one leaders while Joe Hodge managed to get on for the last 12 minutes. The midweek loss made it winless in their last four games going into the weekend fixture with Barnsley, but Hodge and Lonwijk both came into the starting eleven to help stop the rot. Lonwijk played the full 90 minutes while Hodge was replaced by Herbie Kane at the 70-minute mark. Huddersfield now find themselves 9 th in the League One table.

Lucas Kibrya – Wolverhampton Casuals – Midlands Football League Premier Division
Kibrya began this week with a midweek Midland Football League fixture with Northwich Victoria on Tuesday. The keeper couldn’t prevent his side slipping to a 3-2 defeat despite the Cassies coming from behind to equalise twice in the game. Things went from bad to worse on Saturday when Kibrya played in a 7-0 loss to second in the league Brocton. Not an encouraging week for Wolverhampton Casuals who need to come up with something soon to lift themselves off the bottom of the table.

George Hardy – Highgate United – Midlands Football League Premier Division
Hardy’s Highgate team were supposed to play OJM Black Country on Tuesday but a waterlogged pitch meant that the young goalie was only in action once this week, starting in goal for a visit to AFC Wulfrunians. Hardy put in a solid performance that helped his side battle to a well-deserved point. The result took Highgate level on points with their opponents as they sit 16th in the table, three points ahead of Kibrya and the Cassies.

James Storer – Darlaston Town (1874) FC – Northern Premier League
A weekend off was well-earned after a 2-0 victory over Worcester City on Tuesday. Storer was in goal once more and continued on with his stunning season in the Northern Premier League Midlands division. Darlaston Town have only conceded six goals this campaign and Storer has more than played his part. His side played the second half with ten men but managed to hold on to the win as they continued to defy expectations. Storer for me is without a doubt having the best time of all the Wolves loanees this season as Darlaston fly high in 6th place, which isn’t bad for a newly promoted side!

Chem Campbell – Reading – EFL League One
Campbell’s place in the Reading team was a contentious topic going into the week, with some fans less than pleased with the winger’s form. However, any Wolves fan who had seen Chem play across the youth sides will no doubt be aware of his ability and potential which he was happy to prove to his new fans too. The 21-year-old bagged himself a brace at home to Burton on Tuesday. Some good work to regain the ball before finishing on the turn for the first, and his pressing would pay off again later in the first-half when he robbed possession and slotted the ball into the bottom corner. Campbell was subbed off in injury time and then played 72 minutes in the weekend’s loss to Rotherham. Former Wolves man Hakeem Odoffin scored for Rotherham. Reading are now 16th in League One.

Tyler Roberts – AFC Fylde – National League
Fylde were victorious in a crazy 5-2 classic against Aldershot Town this weekend, taking advantage of the opposition’s poor form. Unfortunately, Tyler Roberts played no part in the game and remained on the bench for the full 90 minutes. The national league North side are 21st in the table.

Tawanda Chirewa – Derby County – EFL Championship

Chirewa’s Derby side had a mixed week with a 2-0 loss midweek before winning by the same scoreline on the weekend. Chirewa started the loss to Sunderland on Tuesday but came off after 65 minutes. He wouldn’t be involved in the 2-0 victory over QPR on Saturday though, reportedly out with a thigh injury. Despite this, he has been called up for the next Zimbabwe side ahead of the international break. Derby are unassumingly 12th in the Championship on 12 points.

Hugo Bueno – Feyenoord – Eredivisie
It’s fair to say many Wolves fans were bemused with the loan departure of Hugo Bueno in the summer and after recent performances it seems like Bueno and Feyenoord are the big winners while Wolves have lost out. Bueno made his Champions League debut on Wednesday night for Feyenoord against Spanish club Girona away from home. Feyenoord won the game 3-2 and Bueno benefitted with 71 minutes of game time and the week got even better on a personal level for Bueno. On Sunday Bueno once again started for Feyenoord playing 83 minutes of the match and grabbing an assist as Feyenoord beat FC Twente in the Eredivise. Bueno found space down the left side of the pitch and drifted a beautiful cross into the box to find Japanese international Ayase Ueda who headed home from 8 yards out. Feyenoord went on to win the game 2-1 extending their unbeaten start to the 24/25 Eredivisie campaign.

Fabio Silva – Las Palmas – La Liga
Fabio Silva’s time in Spain was looking fairly similar to his time at Wolves he struggled to make any kind of impact for Las Palmas in his 3 games and missed a 1v1 last week against Real Betis. However on Monday night Silva grabbed his first goal for the Yellows, away to Villarreal. Silva missed a golden opportunity with just 10 minutes on the clock when he was picked out centre of the 6 yard box only to fire wide and hold his head in his hands in embarrassment and Las Palmas went into the break 1-0 down. Within 2 minutes of the restart former Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj played a beautiful outside of the boot through ball to Silva who took one touch before dinking the ball over Villarreal Goalkeeper Diego Conde. Silva played the full 90 minutes as Las Palmas were unable to hold out for a draw conceding two late goals to lose the game 3-1. Saturday didn’t get any better for Las Palmas as they were beaten 1-0 at Home to Celta Vigo who played 35 minutes of the game with just 9 men after Moriba and Aspas were both contriversally shown second yellow cards. Silva started the game lively and found himself 1v1 with the keeper after just 7 minutes but was prevented from scoring the opener from Celta Vigo keeper Guaita. With Las Palmas 1-0 down Silva grabbed another opportunity in the box this time to fire wide. Fabio Silva was later substituted on the 67th minute as Las Palmas remained bottom of La Liga, winless after 9 games.

Marvin Kaleta – Motherwell – Scottish Premiership
Marvin Marvellous Kaleta made a brief cameo for Motherwell this weekend in a 2-1 away victory against Hibernian. Kaleta added 6 more minutes to add to the 51 minutes he had accumulated over 3 league games this season. It’s fair to say Kaleta who has been a regular in cup games this season is on the brink of regular first team football after recent cameos.

Chiquinho – RCD Mallorca – La Liga
RCD Mallorca 3 game winning streak ended this weekend against Espanyol. Chiquinho was brought onto the pitch with Mallorca 2-0 down with 30 minutes remaining but struggled to make any kind of impact. Mallorca managed to get one goal back but it wasn’t enough to grab any points from the game. Mallorca dropped to 7th in the La Liga standings.

Dexter Lembikisa – Yverdon Sports – Swiss Super League
Lembikas was an unused sub in Yverdon Sports 1-1 draw away to Sion the results leaves Yverdon 8th out of 12 after 9 games in the Swiss Super League

Ki Jana-Hoever – Auxerre – Ligue 1
Ki Jana-Hoever played 61 minutes in Auxerre’s 3-1 defeat away to AS Saint-Etienne. There wasn’t much to note on the dutchman’s appearance as he extended his appearances to 5 league games so far this season. The result leaves Auxerre 5th from bottom with 2 wins and 5 defeats in their first 7 league games.

Nathan Fraser – Zulte Waregem – Belgian First Division B
It would be fair to say Nathan Fraser’s time in Belgium has been unsuccessful so far this season. The 19 year old was sent out on loan to gain important first team football but before Sunday only managed 16 minutes across two games. His minutes were extended this weekend but only by 3 minutes not even giving Fraser a chance to touch the ball.
