Phil Smith gives his Wolves player ratings vs West Ham

Jose Sa -7

Without having to face a shot on Target and the club’s first clean sheet of the season Sa did well claimed crosses and was better with his distribution.

Jackson Tchatchoua – 7

Probably had the hardest task up against West Hams Summerville a pacey tricky winger but did well on the whole. Would love him to use his pace going forward a lot more.

Santiago Bueno – 7

Not really tested by a poor West Ham side but dealt with anything he had to do and was composed on the ball.

Yerson Mosquera – 7

Can be erratic at times but was solid in defence a couple of times was sloppy and almost gave the ball away in possession.

Krejci – 7

Like the rest of the defence dealt with anything he had to made a couple of good interceptions and was better on the ball than in previous ganes.

Hugo Bueno – 7

Up against Bowen who normally always scores against us Hugo kept him quiet and got forward well. Cut inside and saw an effort saved in the second half.

Joao Gomes – 6

Taken off at half time maybe to give him a rest but was tidy in possession and curled a great ball into the box that saw Tolu’s header brilliantly saved by the West Ham keeper.

Jhon Arias – 8

Without doubt his best game in a Wolves shirt after a good performance at Old Trafford. Maybe we have stumbled onto his best position? Took his goal well and worked hard off the ball when needed to close any spaces.

MATEUS Mane – 9

We have to remember he is only 18 but he just keeps getting better and better. Goal involvement for the first goal setting Hwang away, wins a penalty and then scores a brilliant goal. MAN OF THE MATCH display.

Hwang – 8

Like many Wolves fans Hwang can frustrate the hell out of me. An assist and a well taken penalty I for one wasn’t overly confident him from scoring from. Worked hard and hopefully getting to see Hwang from a few seasons ago again.

Tolu Arokodare – 7

Looks fitter and slowly adapting to the Premier League. Link up play needs some work still but he did well at times. Had a great header somehow saved at point blank range.

Subs

Andre – 7

Possibly a surprise to see him on the bench after serving his one game ban but Edwards called the starting 11 bang on. Came on at halftime calm and composed on the ball and won the ball back when needed.

Strand Larsen – 6

Looked sharper and possibly should have scored with a free header from a good ball into the box from Arias. At least should’ve hit the target.

Chirewa – N/A

Came on after 86mins looked calm on the ball and helped see out the window

D. Moller Wolfe – N/A

Late sub after 88mins came into the unusual position of midfield to add some fresh legs and energy.
