LUCAS SHARMA REPORTS ON WOLVES WIN IN THE CAPITAL SCORING 4 GOALS ON THE ROAD AT BRENTFORD.

The first half started with both teams having big chances. Wolves had a corner in the 15th minute which was delivered by Pablo Sarabia. After Brentford initially got it cleared away,  Joao Gomes sent it back out wide to Pablo, who then crossed it back into the box where Mario Lemina turns it in with a fantastic header.

20 seconds after kick off, Nathan collins received the ball for Brentford before he turned into trouble and  Hwang Hee chan won the ball  before calmly taking it past the goalkeeper to make it 2-0.

Two minutes later, and Brentford were eager to get back into the game, which they were able to do following a couple of defensive mistakes which resulted in  Neal Maupay picking out Youane Wissa to knock  it past Jose Sa to make it 2-1.

After Brentford’s goal, Wolves started to put more pressure onto Brentford, and that worked payed off with Hwang Hee Chan  getting his second of the evening after Toti Gomes headed it down to him and he calmly finished to make it 3-1 to Wolves as they went in at half time.

The second half was a little less impressive from both teams. Brentford  continued to have big critical moments in the game, but neither team could put the ball in the net. But, in the 79th minute, Wolves picked up from another mistake  from Brentford’s Nathan Collins, as Matheus Cunha won the ball back and ran through, before unselfishly passing it to Jean Ricner Bellgarde for his second Wolves goal, to make it 4-1.

Post match.

This was an important victory for Gary O’Neil’s men who finally ended their 15 game winless streak in the capital. The three points take Wolves to 11th place, only behind 10th placed Chelsea on goal difference.

There will be slight concern for Hwang Hee Chan who came off at half time with a back injury, although this appears to be a minor knock, as confirmed by himself in a post-match interview. However, it is not all bad news for Wolves in terms of injuries, as O’Neil confirmed that he hoped to have Craig Dawson available for selection for the upcoming game against Everton on Saturday.
