Just before we move into the next international break, we take a look at the Wolves loanees in England and Europe.
James Storer – Darlaston Town (1874) FC – Northern Premier League
Darlaston lost their first away game since the opening day defeat to Rugby on Saturday, as they were well beaten 3-1 by Bedworth United. Darlaston dropped to 6th in the Northern Premier League Northern Midlands table. Storer played the full 90 minutes but could not keep a clean sheet. Darlaston now have a week to rest and prepare for three games in a week against Long Eaton, Ansty and Quorn.
Lucas Kibrya – Wolverhampton Casuals – Midlands Football League Premier Division
Lucas Kibrya was in goal as Wolverhampton Casuals were well beaten 3-0 by AFC Wulfrunians on Saturday. The result piles further pressure on the Casuals, as they have only picked up 8 points in their first 15 games and sit 17th out of 18 teams in the Midlands Football League Premier Division.
George Hardy – Highgate United FC – Midlands Football League Premier Division
George Hardy did not play this week as Highgate United had the week off from cup and league football. Highgate return to action on the 16th at home against high-flying 1874 Northwich.
Chem Campbell – Reading – EFL League One
Reading were beaten 1-0 away at Cheltenham on Tuesday night in the Football League Trophy. Chem was not in the matchday squad as Reading made 11 changes for the cup tie. On Saturday, Reading travelled to mid-table side Stevenage, where Chem Campbell helped secure a valuable point with an assist that resulted in a 1-1 draw. Chem received the ball on the right, held off continuous pressure, twisted and turned his way into the box, and set up Harvey Knibbs, who scored from 7 yards out in the 86th minute to grab the equaliser. Chem Campbell played the full 90 minutes and was a constant threat, also registering two attempts on goal.
Nigel Lonwijk – Huddersfield Town FC – EFL League One
After exiting the FA Cup last week to non-league Tamworth, Huddersfield needed to bounce back. On Saturday, they travelled to Crawley Town, who sit inside the relegation zone in League One. Huddersfield Town were expected to pick up all three points and felt frustrated to come away with just one point. Nigel Lonwijk played the full 90 minutes in the 2-2 draw, leaving Huddersfield just outside the playoff positions.
Joe Hodge – Huddersfield Town FC – EFL League One
Joe Hodge is still out injured for the Terriers.
Tawanda Chirewa – Derby County – EFL Championship
Tawanda Chirewa is still out with injury.
Tyler Roberts – AFC Fylde – National League
Since the arrival of head coach Kevin Phillips, Tyler Roberts has been a regular in the AFC Fylde starting eleven. The trust Phillips has given him is starting to pay off. Roberts got the ball rolling in Saturday’s clash with promotion hopefuls Gateshead. AFC Fylde had a rare counter-attack just before the half-hour mark, and Roberts cleverly found space inside the penalty area to slot home. He was also involved in the second goal on 77 minutes. Roberts chased and held off the Gateshead right-back before cutting inside and setting up substitute Gavin Massey, who slotted home from 7 yards out. Just three minutes later, AFC Fylde wrapped up an unexpected victory when Nick Haughton blasted home their third goal. Roberts played a crucial role in this performance as AFC Fylde moved outside the relegation zone into 18th place.
Hugo Bueno – Feyenoord – Eredivisie
After suffering their first league defeat last week, Feyenoord were back in action twice this week. First up was a home Champions League tie against Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg. Hugo Bueno played the full 90 minutes as Feyenoord lost 3-1. This was RB Salzburg’s first Champions League victory of the season, a result that dropped Feyenoord to 21st in the Champions League table. Following back-to-back defeats, Feyenoord head coach Brian Priske made changes for their away trip to Almere in the Eredivisie this weekend. Feyenoord won the game 4-1, but Hugo Bueno was an unused substitute.
Ki-Jana Hoever – Auxerre – Ligue 1
What a season Auxerre are having! This weekend, they pulled off a shock 3-1 victory away to Marseille, making it just one defeat in their last six games in Ligue 1. Hoever played the full 90 minutes and put in a solid defensive and attacking display.
Nathan Fraser – Zulte Waregem – Belgian First Division B
Nathan Fraser was again an unused substitute as Zulte Waregem beat La Louvière 2-1 this weekend. RWDM, Zulte Waregem and La Louvière all have 23 points from the first 11 league games.
Marvin Marvellous Kaleta – Motherwell – Scottish Premiership
After breaking into the starting eleven in the last couple of weeks, Kaleta continues to impress with another solid performance as Motherwell beat St Johnstone 2-1 in the Scottish Premiership this weekend. The victory moves Motherwell up to 5th in the table.
Dexter Lembikisa – Yverdon Sports – Swiss Super League
Dexter Lembikisa was an unused substitute in Yverdon Sports’ 4-1 defeat to FC Basel this weekend.
Chiquinho – RCD Mallorca – La Liga
After making his first start last week, Chiquinho was dropped back to the bench for RCD Mallorca’s game against Atletico Madrid on Sunday. He was brought on for the final 21 minutes but could not inspire his team, who lost 1-0.
Fabio Silva – Las Palmas
Fabio Silva was at it again this weekend, scoring after just 6 minutes in Las Palmas’ 3-1 away victory against Rayo Vallecano. Silva played 79 minutes as Las Palmas jumped up to 16th in La Liga.
