SEE WHAT WOLVES FANS THOUGHT ABOUT THE 1-0 WIN AGAINST MANCHESTER UNITED
GEORGE LAKIN
Ohhhh Vitor Pereira.
Wow. Easy to say now but I sensed this coming after that first half. Genuinely liked what I saw- calm, controlled, contained. We weren’t at our best, but when you stay in games away from home as comfortably as we did all afternoon, you really don’t need to be.
All it takes is a moment of quality; step up Pablo Sarabia with his absolute wand of a left foot. Boy will he be missed. Thank you for your service our Spanish maestro. Some parting gift that.
We matched United across the park, both teams cancelled each other out and we were more than happy with the game going that way. Sloppy at times, but so were they. We won it back with ease time and time again. There was nothing poor about that performance prior to the goal in my opinion- just played to par. Then struck.
Refreshing to see us come out on top in a slow paced, tactical game such as this- just shows how far we’ve come. No chaos, no hearts on sleeves as such, just a controlled, comfortable 0-1 victory at Old Trafford.
Vitor Pereira is a tactical genius, he knows the game in ways most of us can’t fathom. If you can’t see that now, you never will. We are in safe hands, and very, very lucky to have him.
Five on the bounce. Pure nous. Double over United. Drink it in. We know how to win games in the premier league now. Different level.
Happy Easter, and enjoy those pints (again).

Wolves came into this game on a 4-game unbeaten run, which brought them close to Premier League survival.
In the first half, we looked nervous. Wolves didn’t create many chances, and most shots went over the bar, not troubling Onana. This could have worried Vitor about our finishing, but he should be proud of the team for sticking to the plan. We caused problems for Manchester United and kept them from threatening our goal. Dan Bentley, who came in late as a replacement for Jose Sa after an injury in the warm-up, played well.
We managed to contain Manchester United in terms of chances. They can be dangerous on counterattacks with runs into the final third. Whether this was due to tiredness from their Europa League games, I’m not sure.
The second half was much better from our side. We attacked more directly and brought a physical presence that disrupted their play and passing. It reminded me of the last time we won there. It’s great to see how much this Wolves team has improved in play and commitment. Vitor has raised the level, and it shows in where we are now.
We held strong as Manchester United pressed hard to get back into the game. They couldn’t break through our defence. We deserved to keep a clean sheet, which is important for the league and our survival. Vitor deserves praise for making this team so tough to play against. Imagine where we’d be if he had been here earlier in the season.
This has been a huge day for Wolves fans—five wins in a row for the first time since 1970. Premier League survival is now secure for another season. This group has delivered on the promise to get us out of the bottom three and into 15th place—a big turnaround with 29 points on the run. We have to back this manager this summer with players and investment to push us to the next level and become a top-half team.

There couldn’t be a better time to play United. A win today means we draw level on 38 points and move up to 15th.
The first half was quiet for Wolves in attack, but they defended well. Half-time came with no score.
In the second half, Wolves soaked up every attack United tried to create. The problem was Wolves didn’t seem in a hurry to attack. Most of the time, the first thought was to pass backward.
It was 74 minutes before Vitor made a substitution, bringing on the tried and tested Sarabia and Rodrigo Gomes. There was a look of dismay on Larsen’s face when his number went up!
But Vitor Pereira was proved right. Cunha jinked his way to the edge of the box and was fouled by Erikson.
Was it too close, right on the edge? Cunha and Sarabia stood over the ball. Would it be a left or right-foot shot? Onana set up his wall carefully, including the now usual prostrate player on the ground to guard against a low shot.
It didn’t matter how many players United put in the wall. Sarabia stepped up and hit a fierce curling shot over the static wall and into Onana’s flying left-hand top corner. No keeper could stop it.
Amorim used all five United substitutions to no avail. Agbadou, Toti, J. Gomes, and Andre were the backbone of a superb, solid Wolves display.
Mount was lucky not to get a red card for stamping on Andre. He didn’t even get a yellow.
As we got close to injury time, Cunha made way for Djiga, and Ait-Nouri was replaced by the steady Doherty.
Wolves could have had a second when Rodrigo Gomes burst from the halfway line. He took one touch too many when he had a teammate free in the box, and the chance slipped away.
The victory makes it six wins in a row, the double over United for the first time in years, and we’re level on points with United. Although Spurs, with a win over Forest tomorrow, would take back 15th place.
To sum up, Wolves won without playing their best in attack but were solid and professional in defence. Praise for Bentley, who didn’t even know he was playing until 15 minutes before kick-off.
Next up is Leicester at Molineux next Saturday. There’s no reason Wolves can’t keep this winning run going.
In Vitor, Wolves have found a manager who knows what he’s doing. He took off both our forwards, and one of his substitutes scored the Goal of the Month. Still, I expect Wolves to be fifth on Match of the Day, where most of the talk will be about United’s decline rather than Wolves’ rise since Vitor Pereira took over.
A very satisfied Wolves supporter here. Well played, Wolves squad. Today’s win showed the team spirit that’s now so clear in Wolves.

Wolves may not have played their best football at Old Trafford today, but they walked away with a result that matters most. The match was often scrappy, with Wolves having to defend deep for long periods as Manchester United pushed for a goal. Despite the pressure, the team stayed organised and disciplined at the back, rarely giving United a clear chance to score.
Getting a clean sheet at Old Trafford is always an achievement, and Wolves showed grit and teamwork throughout the match. The players worked hard for each other and took their key moment when it came. While there is room for improvement in attack and control, coming away with a 1-0 win against Manchester United, especially away from home, will give everyone at the club a big boost.
Pereira must be properly backed in the Summer and this team can achieve big things!

WOWW! Pablo Sarabia, take a bow lad
5 WINS IN A ROW.
VITOR PERERIA’S WOLVES.
We didnt play the best. Bit sloppy.
But with a moment of quality from a free kick won by Cunha, and scored by Sarabia.
What a time to be a Wolves fan.
Onto the next:
Leicester City at home.
