Wolves Announce Departure of Nasser Djiga and reports that Chiquinho and Joe Hodge will Move On
Wolverhampton Wanderers are reshaping their squad this summer with three confirmed or imminent departures.
Nasser Djiga will spend the 2025/26 season on loan at Scottish Premiership side Rangers.
The young defender, signed by Wolves on deadline day earlier this year, heads to Scotland to gain more experience in the British game. Djiga, a Burkina Faso international, made six appearances for Wolves after joining from Red Star Belgrade in February, including his first Premier League start at Crystal Palace late in the season.
Djiga’s Wolves debut came as a substitute in February’s 1-0 win at AFC Bournemouth. He also featured off the bench against Southampton, Ipswich Town, and Manchester United during Wolves’ six-game winning streak.
Chiquinho is also set to leave Wolves for Alverca in Portugal. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the deal is permanent with Wolves keeping a 40% sell-on clause. Chiquinho has agreed to a three-year contract with Alverca.
Finally, Portuguese newspaper A Bola reports that Joe Hodge is set to sign for Tondela. The midfielder’s move will be permanent and on a free transfer. Hodge is expected to agree to a two-year contract with an option for a further season. Wolves will keep 20-30% of any future transfer fee. The deal could be finalized within hours.
With these changes, Wolves are looking to balance the squad, give young players a chance for more game time, and maintain future interest through sell-on clauses.
