Week 5 Predictions Recap

Scoring reminder: 3 points for an exact score, 1 point for the right outcome.

Emma took Week 5, edging it with exact scorelines. Dave still bagged more correct outcomes, but those bang-on calls matter.

For those wondering how Magic Moss got on he got 7 points.

WEEK 6 PREMIER LEAGUE PREDICTIONS WITH DAVE AND EM

Week 6 Premier League Predictions

Below you’ll find each fixture with Emma and Dave’s predictions plus our quick thoughts on form.

Brentford vs Manchester United

  • Emma: 1-1
  • Dave: 1-2

Emma flagged that 12:30 kick-offs can spring surprises. Brentford have had a slow start but are competitive. Dave sees United’s momentum after beating Chelsea as enough to edge it, even though Chelsea played with 10 for most of that match. Brentford’s recent 3-1 loss to Fulham is a concern for home fans.

Chelsea vs Brighton and Hove Albion

  • Emma: 2-1 Chelsea
  • Dave: 2-0 Chelsea

Chelsea to steady quickly at home. Brighton took a draw off Spurs last time out, but both hosts backed the Blues. The chat had a real mix, with a few bold ones for Brighton.

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool

  • Emma: 2-2
  • Dave: 1-1

Liverpool keep finding late winners, even when the performance doesn’t quite match the points. Selhurst Park is never easy. Both called a draw, with the chat split between Liverpool nicking it and a stalemate.

Leeds United vs Bournemouth

  • Emma: 1-1
  • Dave: 1-1

Elland Road is a tough place to go. Both could see Bournemouth edging it on another day, but they landed on a draw.

Manchester City vs Burnley

  • Emma: 3-0 City
  • Dave: 3-0 City

City at home after a frustrating patch usually means one thing. Near-unanimous agreement that this will be comfortable for the Citizens.

Nottingham Forest vs Sunderland

  • Emma: 1-0 Forest
  • Dave: 1-1

Forest haven’t found rhythm, and there’s talk of a dip since Nuno left. Emma tips them to grind out a tight win. Dave sees a draw.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

  • Emma: 2-1 Spurs
  • Dave: Holding the score back for the match preview

Emma thinks Wolves can compete, but says Spurs look organised and fears a narrow defeat. She also notes the difficulty of predicting Wolves’ starting XI. Dave hinted at a tough day, pointing to Wolves’ record against Spurs, but saved his exact score for the preview.

Aston Villa vs Fulham

  • Emma: 1-2 Fulham
  • Dave: 0-1 Fulham

Villa haven’t got going, so both go for Fulham to take a tight one. Some in the chat backed a Villa response at home.

Newcastle United vs Arsenal

  • Emma: 0-2 Arsenal
  • Dave: 0-2 Arsenal

Newcastle step up for big occasions at home, but both back Arsenal’s quality to tell. Solid support in the chat for the Gunners.

Everton vs West Ham United

  • Emma: 2-0 Everton
  • Dave: 2-0 Everton

Both fancy Everton to be too strong on the day. The room leaned blue as well.

Wolves Fan Questions and Chat

Favourite Wolves song or chant?

“NunoHad a Dream” gets the nod. There was a friendly squabble about whether “Those Were the Days” is a chant or a song. It’s both. It was a song first, then the terraces claimed it.

Was last night’s win a switch, and should Sam Johnstone stay in goal?

Yes, it felt like a step forward. A shift to 4-3-3 helped. Ladislav Krejci’s organisation at the back stood out, even if there were still a few slips. Johnstone had one risky pass out from the back, but he’s a strong shot stopper. He keeps the gloves.

Will Wolves Women move up this year?

That’s the hope. The start has been positive, and there’s real belief. A visit is on the cards.

Soft spot for Villa?

Respect, yes. Soft spot, no.

Will Vitor Pereira stick with a back four?

Emma think probably not. Expect a return to a back three. A lot depends on Andre’s fitness, because if he is fit, it changes the need for makeshift roles.

Who do you want in tonight’s cup draw?

Home tie, please. Non-Premier League if possible, just for a change of scenery. If it’s away, make it somewhere new or somewhere we’ve not visited in ages.

Emma as the best female pundit on the fan channels?

Very kind. Also a shout to the women out there to get involved. The more voices, the better.

Stay up or win the FA Cup?

Stay up, every time. If you offer both, even better. A cup final would be magic, but not at the cost of dropping into the Championship.

Should KrEJCI become captain?

Yes. He looked like a leader, talking, organising, and setting standards. The captaincy hasn’t been formally locked in, and Toti has worn the armband, but on-pitch leadership is clear.

Doc’s role and captaincy, and Villa Park vs the Hawthorns?

On captaincy, Toti has a shout as club captain, but game captain should be the on-field leader. As for grounds, Villa Park tops the Hawthorns.

Holiday: Canada or Scotland?

Canada edges it.

Tea time: pie and mash or fish and chips?

Fish and chips, by a whisker. Both are proper choices for matchdays.

Longest distance travelled for a game?

One of the European aways. Trips to Portugal, Turin, Barcelona, and Istanbul come to mind. Istanbul likely wins on distance.

Final Whistle

Week 5 swung Emma’s way, but the standings are tight. Week 6 has clear favourites in Manchester City and Everton, knife-edge calls at Palace and Elland Road, and a big test for Wolves at Spurs.

Thanks for reading. Drop your predictions in the comments and tell us whether you agree, or if we’ve lost the plot.

Always Wolves.
