Gary O’Neil 🗣️"We beat ourselves really in the first half when we gave ourselves a mountain to climb. We started the game well but we allowed Palace to press us high up the pitch. You could feel it in the stadium and Palace started to grow from it."We've had an incredible season apart from today. Lots of positives but we can't keep talking about how well we've done. We need to find ways to go about it slightly differently. We have a lot of work done between now and the end of the season."Great response in the second half. We had momentum but the third goal for them kills the game off. We haven't quite reached the level we are at the start of the season."There's a lot of reasons for the drop off. Gary O’Neil 🗣️•Pedro Neto has returned to training but will not be involved on Saturday because he has "not done enough at high speeds to guarantee it's not a risk for him". However, Santiago Bueno is back and available.•O'Neil said "the change in results and momentum" show how injuries have impacted them this season, adding: "No excuse, of course - we understand all teams have injuries. To have no forwards available for a long part of the season is tough in the Premier League."•On next season: "We want to push on so I don’t want it so be seen as 'yeah we’ve done OK this year and everyone can go off and be happy'. It's something to build on."•He said he believes Crystal Palace's upturn in form is down to both the change in manager and key players returning. He said: "The new coach and fresh ideas, they've got [Ebrechi] Eze and [Michael] Olise back, and [Marc] Guehi coming back. Roy Hodgson did a fantastic job for a very long time. I think the last goal it's unbelievable that we lose the ball when we had it at the back under no pressure."If you make errors against these they'll punish you. We made too many errors and Manchester City were very clinical."We fell short today, I'm disappointed with how we fell short. We made some key errors which you can't make."I though the first one was not a penalty. At 1-0 we had a good, long spell on the ball. If they hadn't have been given that start it may have been different. Then we gave them a soft second goal. There were loads of little things that meant we weren't able to compete against the best team in Europe too much."On the first penalty decision: "You see those incidents all the time. He's already had the shot. I don't know what he can do. It's his swinging leg that causes the contact. I'm surprised with how quickly it's given. I thought it was a poor decision. That part of the officiating was really bad."I'd have no idea if that would have made any difference. We may have lost 4-1. It's a key part of the game. I wasn't expecting it to be given."The second one was probably a penalty but once it wasn't given I was surprised it was overturned. I'm happy with the decision but not happy with how it was given. Gary O'Neil 🗣️Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, Pedro Neto and Santiago Bueno have all returned to full training and are available for Saturday's match. Noha Lemina is back in training but has a "little bit more to do", while Craig Dawson remains out.Reflecting on September's 2-1 win over City, O'Neil said: "In the first game we were at home, which makes it easier. They were missing a couple of players. I think everybody is pretty aware of how good they are in the run-in as well, so I would expect it to be a much more difficult test than the one we faced back in the early part of the season."On facing a side fighting for the Premier League title: "They probably don't feel like they can make a slip. I would have thought with Arsenal breathing down their necks they will expect to need maximum points from the games they have got left to get it done."More on the challenge facing Wolves at Etihad Stadium: "We go there trying to give everything we can, try to be as close to perfect as we can and see if we can cause an upset.
