Premier League Week 24 Predictions: Dave & Emma’s Picks, Points, and Plenty of Banter

If you’re following Premier League Week 24 predictions, this one comes with a bit of spice. Dave and Emma are back with their match picks, a look back at last week’s scoring, and a quick Wolves Q&A to round things off.

Week 23 was the sort of week where one person wants to frame the results and the other wants to pretend the round never happened. Emma was the one smiling.

Week 23 results: Emma’s 9 points leaves Dave staring at a “sea of red”

The recap didn’t take long, mostly because Dave had no interest in lingering on it. Emma put up 9 points, while Dave managed 1. That’s the kind of swing that changes the mood of the whole week.

Emma nailed two big calls outright, including Everton 1-1 Leeds (which was made even better by the fact they watched it and Emma was laughing when Everton scored), plus Manchester City 2-0 Wolves, a match they were actually at. On top of that, she picked up three more correct outcomes to keep the points ticking over.

Dave’s card, in his words, was basically a “sea of red”, not just wrong scores but wrong outcomes too. His best moment was Crystal Palace vs Chelsea, where even then he didn’t get the score right, only scraping a point.

Here’s how the week looked in numbers:

Overall, Dave has won 11 weeks to Emma’s 9, but the running total is what matters, and Emma has dragged herself in front. The latest standings have Emma leading 142 to 131, turning what felt like a manageable gap into an 11-point problem for Dave.

Dave tried to talk himself into a reset, insisting “the comeback begins this week”. Emma, naturally, wasn’t letting him off the hook, and even got a Wolves joke in, pointing out it was “still not as many as Wolves have got to catch up”.

Quick Q&A: theatre plans, Wolves selection, and what Emma would ask Fosun

They finish with a short Q&A, and it goes from light to serious in about 30 seconds.

First up is a fun one, framed as a message from the cast of Six, asking how excited Emma is to see it live. Emma’s answer is simple: super excited. They mention they’ve seen a cinema production before, but not the live show, and they’re looking forward to it (with the timing note that by the time the video is out, they’d already have gone).

Then it swings back to Wolves. A question comes in from “Mr R. Edwards” asking who should start up front against Bournemouth. Emma’s clear that Wolves shouldn’t be leaving Strand Larsen and Tolu both on the bench. She also says she’d like to see Tolu and Mane start, and thinks Rodrigo Gomes has earned more time. Emma’s idea is to push Gomes further forward as a winger, even though they also discuss him as a wing-back option. Dave adds that Gomes came on for Jackson in the week, which feeds into the point that he’s already being used and could have more impact.

The last one is the biggest. Emma is asked what she’d ask Mr Nathan Shi. Her focus is on direction and backing: are Fosun committed, will they invest, and are they prepared to do what it takes to get Wolves back into the Premier League? She also asks why it has taken so long for action to follow the club’s downward trend, saying an investment company should be monitoring those patterns.

Final thoughts: Week 24 is set up nicely

Week 24 has a few obvious matches on paper, but plenty that could swing on one moment. It also has something rare for this series: two identical picks from Dave and Emma, which means the gaps could tighten or widen fast.

Share your own Week 24 score predictions and see if your card is greener than Dave’s was last week. Whatever happens, the next points swing is only one dodgy deflection away, and that’s why it’s always worth watching.
