ALL THE LATEST GOSSIP AND TRANSFER RUMOURS FOR WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS
It’s the January transfer window time! With the window open until 11pm on 1st February we have plenty of time for incomings and outgoings. We round up the latest Wolves gossip and rumours
Bright Osayi-Samuel
Star Gazetesi report that Wolves are amongst a number of clubs interested in Fenerbace right back Bright Osayi-Samuel. He’s scored two goals and registered four assists from 24 games this season and his good form has attracted attention.
It’s thought an agreement could be reached for around €10m as Fenerbace look to overhaul their squad this January and the Nigerian International has just 18 months left on his contract. Bright is thought to be open to a move back to the UK having lived in London from the age of ten, he has previously played for Blackpool and Queens Park Rangers.
Noha Lemina
Mario’s brother is just 18 and an attacking midfielder. Noha is currently on a season long loan to Sampdoria from PSG but has only had 15 minutes playing time in Serie B and could be recalled to either stay at PSG or go out again on another loan. Wolves have been heavily linked in recent days with some suggesting the deal is close to done but we may have to wait a while with Mario and Noha recently losing their father.
Rodrigo Gomes
The Braga winger Rodrigo Gomes’ agent has confirmed that Wolves have shown interest in signing him.
Throughout 2023–24, Gomes has been in incredible form, with four goals and six assists in just 14 Primeira Liga games these contributions have come from a range of wide positions making him ideal for a side that plays wing-backs and interchangeable forwards.
It appears that a transfer in January is unlikely, partly due to Braga having to pay a fee to Estoril if they want to cut short his loan.
Saïd Benrahma
Wolves and Fulham are both interested in Benrahma, who is playing an increasingly peripheral role at West Ham. However, he is also coveted in Ligue 1. Whilst Olympique de Marseille have denied interest in the winger, Lyon and OGC Nice are also reportedly interested.
Fabio Carvalho
According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Wolves are keen on bringing in Liverpool youngster Fabio Carvalho on loan and have made contact to ask about his situation following the Reds’ decision to recall the 21-year-old from his temporary spell at RB Leipzig. Priority is to get playing minutes but Fulham are favourites with Marco Silva keen to reunite with the young Portuguese winger/ attacking midfielder
Outgoings
Fabio Silva has already gone out on loan to Rangers and hopefully he will get playing time and be successful. There’s no option to buy on the deal with the asking price likely to be over Rangers budget. His future will be reviewed in the Summer but if he performs well and scores plenty of goals Wolves may be able to recoup some of his initial hefty price tag.
Sasa Kalajdzic is thought to be keen on a move as he needs playing time in preparation for the Euros. There has been lots of interest from Germany but also Fulham and West Ham. Gary O’Neil when asked in his press conference has said he will not be allowed to leave unless there is a striker coming in.
Max Kilman continues to be linked with West Ham, fans seem to think there might be a sap deal done for Danny Ings but Wolves will not want to let go of their captain unless serious money is on the table but Wolves still do have one eye on adhering to profit and sustainability rules.
Gonçalo Guedes hasn’t been pulling up trees on loan at Benfica, making only 2 starts in 7 appearances but there has still been interest from Villarreal, Valencia and Saudi Arabia. Watch this space to see what happens with this one.
Jonny Otto will be looking for another club following his disciplinary at Wolves which will mean Wolves need to bring in cover for his departure.
