BLACKPOOL WOLF & LOUIE LEFEVRE TAKE A LOOK AT HOW WOLVES LOANEES GOT ON THIS WEEK

As we move towards a quarter of the season played for most of the clubs at home and across Europe we get a better idea of what our loan players’ roles are for their loan clubs.

Marvin Kaleta – Motherwell – Scottish Premiership
It would be fair to suggest Marvin Kaleta’s first loan spell of his career is probably going better than expected. The 20 year old right back is gaining plenty of senior minutes although he has not yet nailed down a starting role. Kaleta was brought on as a late substitute in Motherwell’s 1-0 home defeat to Dundee on Saturday being introduced as right midfielder as Motherwell tried to grab an equaliser. This extended his League minutes this season to 70 to add to the 179 cup minutes he has already accumulated across 8 games.

Fabio Silva – Las Palmas – La Liga
Fabio Silva is not in action until tonight when Las Palmas travel to Valencia. Surprisingly this is an early relegation battle as Valencia sit in 19th and Las Palmas are still winless sitting bottom of La Liga (20th). Silva will be going into the game full of confidence after grabbing two goals in two games for Portugal under 21’s during the international break.

Chiquinho – RCD Mallorca – La Liga
Mallorca continue their impressive start to this year’s La Liga campaign with a 1-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano on Sunday. Mallorca sit 1 point outside the Champions League spots with 17 points from their opening 10 games. Unfortunately Chiquinho’s loan spell so far has been unsuccessful, He was once again an unused sub this weekend. Surprisingly Chiquinho has played more senior minutes for Wolves this season (96 minutes) than he has for Mallorca (57 minutes across three games)

Ki-Jana Hoever – Auxerre – Ligue 1
Ki-Jana Hoever is probably enjoying his Loan move this season more than any of the Lads overseas. Once again Hoever played a full 90 minutes for Auxerre as they beat Reims 2-1 at the Estadio de I’Abbe-Deschamps. According to French news outlets Ki-Jana was one of the highest rated players on the pitch only being rated lower than the two goal scorers for Auxerre. Auxerre now move upto 12th in their first season back in the top flight.

Nathan Fraser – Zulte Waregem – Belgian First Division B
Zulte Waregem moved upto 1st place in the Belgian First Division B after beating Patro Eisden 1-0 away from home on Sunday. Unfortunately Nathan Fraser was once again an unused sub.

Hugo Bueno – Feyenoord – Eredivisie
Bueno started Feyenoords impressive 5-1 victory away to Go Ahead Eagles on Saturday. Bueno was an ever present threat down the left side, supporting Timber and Paixao and causing all kinds of problems for Go Ahead Eagles. It’s clear to see since coming back from a minor injury Bueno has made the left back position his own. Feyenoord are still unbeaten in Eredivisie and sit 4th with 4 wins and 4 draws after their first 8 games.

Dexter Lembikisa – Yverdon Sports – Swiss Super League
Dexter Lembikisa had a bad debut just over a month ago and he has yet to be given a chance to improve as once again he was an unused sub in Yverdon Sports 2-0 home win against Lugano on sunday.

Tyler Roberts – AFC Fylde – National League
Another rough week for AFC Fylde as they returned to Vanarama National action after last week’s FA Cup exit. They lost 4-0 to Dagenham and Redbridge which means new manager Kevin Phillips has now conceded eight goals in his first two games. Roberts’ goal last week helped earn him a start for the match as he played the full 90 minutes but the forward was powerless to help his side resist a heavy defeat. Still positives for the loanee as this was his first 90 minutes since joining. Fylde are 21st in the fifth tier of English football.

James Storer – Darlaston Town (1874) FC – Northern Premier League
Darlaston Town handed Sutton Coldfield their second defeat of the season with 3-1 win at the Paycare Stadium. Storer was of course in goal for the match and helped his side leapfrog the opposition in the league table and move up to 4 th . Manager Dean Gill praised the team performance that included a last-minute goal for the hosts. Storer is back in action on Tuesday when Darlaston face Lye Town, a team they beat 3-0 in the FA Cup back in August.

George Hardy – Highgate United – Midlands Football League Premier Division
Hardy was in goal at The Coppice on Saturday when Daventry Town knocked his Highgate United side out of the competition. The goalkeeper put in a top effort during the 2-1 loss and the hosts may well have deserved to get further through to the next round. Hardy’s thoroughly enjoying non-league football and an extended run of gametime and will no doubt be feeling the rewards of senior games despite the run of results.

Lucas Kibrya – Wolverhampton Casuals – Midlands Football League Premier Division
Kibrya was in JW Hunt Cup action midweek and got the weekend to relax. Kibrya managed to keep a clean sheet against Telford Town but his side also failed to find the net, taking the game to penalties. Kibrya was unfortunately eliminated but another solid performance from Lucas as he continues to gain valuable minutes and play a crucial role for the Cassies, just as Stan Amos had done last season. More cup action next, in the Staffordshire Senior Cup.

Chem Campbell – Reading – EFL League One
Campbell played just over half an hour when he appeared as a second half substitute for Reading in a 4-1 thumping victory over Crawley Town. The Wolves loanee replaced Harvey Knibbs in the 56 th minute and was on the field for two more goals but didn’t manage to get in on the scoring himself. It’s 13th in the table now for Reading, with three wins in their last five games.

Tawanda Chirewa – Derby County – EFL Championship
Another matchday missed for Chirewa who didn’t make the starting XI or the bench. Chirewa’s growing struggle for minutes will no doubt be raising concerns for Wolves who will have envisioned the player getting far more game time. Chirewa went into the season as one of the brightest prospects for Wolves, even featuring in the pre-season American tour, but this loan move has not worked as expected.

Nigel Lonwijk – Huddersfield Town – EFL League One
90 minutes, a yellow card and an assist for Nigel Lonwijk during Huddersfield’s 3-1 win over Bristol Rovers. The defender burst forward with the ball from the back before sliding in former West Brom striker Callum Marshall to score the second goal of the game for the Terriers. Lonwijk has been in-form as of late and has received plenty of praise for his performances. It’s 6th in the league now for Huddersfield as they go for promotion to England’s second tier. If successful this will be Nigel Lonwijk second promotion from League One after gaining promotion as Champions with Plymouth Argyle in the 2022/23 season.

Joe Hodge – Huddersfield Town – EFL League One
Joe Hodge was unavailable through injury.
