Blackpool Wolf & Louei Lefevre bring you all the latest news in their latest Loanwatch article
James Storer – Darlaston Town (1874) FC – Northern Premier League
Darlaston took a break from their impressive league campaign to focus on the Birmingham Senior Cup midweek. Storer’s team faced Sutton Coldfield Town at Coles Lane, with the loanee goalkeeper starting. Unfortunately, Sutton won 2-0, progressing to the next round. Storer had the weekend off, but Darlaston arranged a friendly against Lucas Kibrya’s Wolverhampton Casuals next Tuesday.
Lucas Kibrya – Wolverhampton Casuals – Midlands Football League Premier Division
Not a great weekend for the young Wolves loanee goalkeeper. He was in goal for Wolverhampton Casuals’ Midland Football League Premier Division clash with Stourport Swifts. Kibrya’s side lost 4-0 away and now sit two points adrift at the bottom of the table. It’s been a tough season for the Casuals, who need a quick turnaround.
George Hardy – Highgate United FC – Midlands Football League Premier Division
Two games this week for Hardy, including Birmingham Senior Cup action at home against Alvechurch. The visitors, a division above Highgate United, showed their quality with a comfortable 3-0 victory. Hardy played the full match, just as he did on Saturday when Highgate faced Dudley Town in league action. It was a narrow loss for Hardy’s side, who fell 2-1, leaving Highgate in a relegation battle.
Chem Campbell – Reading – EFL League One
Reading faced Barnsley in League One on Tuesday evening, visiting play-off hopefuls at Oakwell. Campbell played the full 90 minutes on the right wing and provided an assist for Sam Smith’s first goal. Campbell cut inside beautifully, and a shot turned cross was deflected in off Smith. The match finished 2-2, leaving the Royals 7th, just below Barnsley, level on points with a game in hand. Campbell also played an hour on Sunday, helping Reading win a thrilling 5-3 match in extra time, knocking out non-league Harborough Town in the FA Cup. Introduced in the 60th minute, he scored two goals in three minutes. Both came from darting runs inside from the left, one sneaking in near-post despite the keeper’s touch, and the other sent back across the goalkeeper after outpacing three Harborough defenders. A good week for Campbell, who really boosted his goal tally. The second goal, in particular, was a fantastic solo effort.
Nigel Lonwijk – Huddersfield Town FC – EFL League One
Lonwijk played 90 minutes on Tuesday night in League One. Positioned on the left of a back three, he kept home side Leyton Orient at bay, securing another clean sheet. Huddersfield won 2-0, keeping their promotion push on track while their opponents fight hard at the other end of the table.
Joe Hodge – Huddersfield Town FC – EFL League One
Joe Hodge is still out injured.
Tawanda Chirewa – Derby County – EFL Championship
Tawanda Chirewa is still out injured.
Tyler Roberts – AFC Fylde – National League
Roberts missed midweek action due to suspension but returned to face Sutton United. He played the whole match on the right but couldn’t save his side from a 2-0 defeat. Fylde have now lost four of their last five league games, sitting 22nd and struggling to find form as they battle against relegation.
Hugo Bueno – Feyenoord – Eredivisie
Hugo Bueno is still out injured.
Ki-Jana Hoever – Auxerre – Ligue 1
Auxerre suffered their first defeat in six games this weekend against Toulouse. Ki-Jana Hoever didn’t have the best game and was substituted at half-time in the 2-0 loss.
Nathan Fraser – Zulte Waregem – Belgian First Division B
Nathan Fraser was an unused substitute in Zulte Waregem’s 3-2 away victory at Jong Genk. Zulte Waregem remain top of the league, but unfortunately, another week passes with no minutes for Nathan Fraser.
Marvin Kaleta – Motherwell – Scottish Premiership
Marvin Kaleta played the full 90 minutes as Motherwell lost 3-0 at home to bottom side Hibernian. On a positive note, Kaleta has secured the right-wing back position and has now played nine Scottish Premiership matches, along with a few cup games, continuing to gain experience.
Dexter Lembikisa – Yverdon Sports – Swiss Super League
Dexter Lembikisa was not in the matchday squad for Yverdon Sports’ 1-0 defeat to Luzern.
Chiquinho – RCD Mallorca – La Liga
Chiquinho was an unused substitute in Mallorca’s 2-1 home victory against Valencia. The result lifts RCD Mallorca up to 6th in La Liga. Next up for Mallorca is top-of-the-league Barcelona.
Fabio Silva – Las Palmas – La Liga
Fabio Silva seems to have found his form at Las Palmas this season after a slow start. Each week, he appears involved in something positive, and this week was no different as Las Palmas beat league leaders Barcelona. In the 67th minute, Fabio found himself through on goal, smashing the ball into the bottom left corner for the winning goal, helping Las Palmas to a 2-1 victory. Las Palmas will face Europa in the second round of the Copa del Rey tomorrow night.
