What Pereira has done to turn this club around in the space of 10 weeks is nothing short of phenomenal. The whole mentality has shifted.
An invaluable 3 points. 5 points clear of both Ipswich and Leicester, and the prospect of pulling away from trouble once and for all is now a real possibility. That’s what wins against teams like Villa and Bournemouth will do for you when the standard of the bottom 3 is so low. We have levels of quality they don’t, we have enough to complete with anyone, and Pereira is bringing that out in spades.
Not a stellar second half by any means but we dug in and, in truth, we never looked too uncomfortable. Workmanlike and professional, which shouldn’t be taken for granted at all given where we were just 2 months ago; a petulance infused mess that looked to be in an inevitable death spiral towards relegation. Now, somehow, we look strong, stable, settled, harmonious. Spirited.
Good to see Strand Larsen back and looking fit, he worked hard up top. Djiga and Lima in particular with superb cameos too. Doc outstanding throughout, my man of the match.
Vitor vindicated in his decision to take Joao Gomes off, clearly learned a lot from that Arsenal game. His absence second half definitely affected our fluency a bit overall, but the risk was probably too high in keeping him on. It was the sensible call and big calls like that are what maketh the man[ager]- and I’ve said it from day one…
We have a good one here.
Time to start looking up.. United, we’re coming for you.
In Vitor we trust. Now and forever.

Today marks the start of a six-game run where we need to secure maximum points to pull away from the bottom three in our fight for survival in the Premier League.
We started on the back foot, with Bournemouth having plenty of the ball and dominating possession. We faced an early setback with a yellow card in our backline, which was disappointing as it put us under pressure for the rest of the match.
However, we then had a good spell, causing problems for the home side and creating chances of our own to take the lead. There was a crucial moment when the home team was reduced to ten men, giving us the opportunity to exploit their weaknesses.
I noticed that the pitch caused some issues; it seemed overwatered, preventing us from finding our rhythm. Despite this, we took the lead through our talisman, Matheus Cunha, who scored with the help of Munetsi on his first start for the club. They linked up well during the move.
After scoring, we fell back and didn’t play like a team against ten men. We went into half-time with a lead, but we needed to attack with more intensity and press for a second goal to secure the win. Vitor made a good decision to take off Joao Gomes, who would likely have been sent off if he stayed on. Smart management there.
The second half was messy for both teams, with both guilty of missed chances. We weren’t moving the ball as quickly as we did in the first half, which is something we need to fix. Pedro Lima and Munetsi had chances to score a second goal, but we managed to keep our unbeaten run going at the Vitality Stadium.
It was a tense game for us. We had to stay compact at times, but Vitor is getting us to the right levels when it matters. We need to keep this momentum going. A five-point gap has opened up from the bottom three, but we must keep pushing and aim to extend that lead in our next home game next week. We have to keep believing.
