WOLVES FANS SHARE THEIR THOUGHTS ON WOLVES 4-2 LOSS AGAINST CRYSTAL PALACE AT SELHURST PARK

Amidst Palace’s celebrations and the whole carnival atmosphere it felt like we were just there to make up the numbers.
It was up to us to change that- and while we had a lot of the ball, and had a decent go in the second half, we never really looked like getting anything out of the game.
Our biggest strength under Pereira has been a return to the basics: compact, organised, defensively stern, staying in games. All of which went to pot tonight.
Putting that down to ‘squad experimentation’ is fine, but ultimately we’ve only learnt what many of us already knew to be true; there’s nowhere near enough strength in depth.
Overall, disappointing. Would’ve liked us to at least look like we have genuine ambitions of finishing as high as possible. Didn’t see that out there.
A most un-Vitor like performance and now the season is in danger of ending with a real whimper. Yes, we all want it to be over, but not before one last push against Brentford to hopefully secure 14th.

I was very concerned tonight with the team selection, as Vitor made six changes and brought in players who haven’t featured much this season.
In the first half, we were a side playing below the standards we’ve come to expect under Vitor. Our defensive line was poor, and our positioning wasn’t good, which allowed Crystal Palace to score. One positive, though, was Agbadou getting his first goal for the club, which he deserved.
In the second half, we didn’t learn from our mistakes, and Crystal Palace scored again. Vitor made changes at half-time to try and fix the problems, but this time it didn’t work as he expected. This is new territory for Vitor, who hasn’t had to deal with this situation during his short time in charge.
We still had hope after scoring another goal, setting up a possible grandstand finish, and we looked capable of causing Crystal Palace problems from set pieces. We need to keep this up against a team we usually struggle with on their home ground.
However, we were caught out by a Crystal Palace counter-attack, and our chance for a comeback disappeared. Just as they seemed to be tiring, Palace brought on two fresh players, which made a difference. They were far more clinical than us tonight. As this season comes to a close, it’s clear we’ve had our ups and downs.
Our set-piece play was good tonight, but defending is an area Vitor will need to sort out—especially with a team missing its big names. The problems are clear, but this is football, and Vitor knows the task ahead and needs backing from the club.
We have one last chance in the final game to secure 14th place, which must now be our focus. Let’s support the lads on Sunday, cheer them on for one final push, and keep the faith. Up the Wolves.

A shocking performance from Wolves tonight. While it was good to see Agbadou score his first goal for the club and Strand Larsen add another, the overall display was abysmal. None of the defenders performed, and every goal we conceded could have been avoided.
Let’s hope we can turn things around and finish the season strongly against Brentford on the final day.
