Wolves Player Ratings vs Crystal Palace: Sloppy Night Ends in Defeat

FINLEY SMITH SHARES HIS PERFORMANCE RATINGS ON WOLVES 4-2 LOSS TO CRYSTAL PALACE

DAN BENTLEY – 6.5
Made some great saves tonight but also conceded a few goals he could probably have done better on.

RODRIGO GOMES – 6.5
Slow start in the first half but grew into the game. Not his best performance, but he always gives his all for the badge, which is great to see.

NASSER DJIGA – 6
Not his night. Made a few sloppy mistakes. It didn’t help that the other defenders weren’t at their best either.

EMMANUEL AGBADOU – 7
In my opinion, the best player on the pitch tonight. Tried to get the team going with good ball recoveries and strong challenges.

TOTI – 6.5
Tried to push up the field as he usually does. Had his moments, both good and bad.

RAYAN AIT NOURI – 4.5
Frustrating to watch. Kept losing the ball and was out of position when Crystal Palace countered. Usually, we see his skill and quick transitions, but tonight he needed to keep it simpler.

ANDRE – 6
Crystal Palace found it too easy to get through our midfield. It didn’t help that Joao didn’t start alongside him. We need better bench quality as well as stronger starters in the summer transfer window. Not his best night.

JEAN -RICNER BELLEGARDE – 6.5
Wasn’t awful but couldn’t really get going.

PABLO SARABIA – 6
Like Bellegarde, he struggled to make an impact.

JORGEN STRAND LARSEN – 6
Scored a lovely header but wasn’t involved much otherwise. He needs more balls played into the box; it annoys me when that doesn’t happen. Couldn’t do much beyond his goal tonight.

GONCALO GUEDES – 5.5
Had a few good shots but was a bit frustrating overall.

SUBSTITUTES:

NELSON SEMEDO – 5
Tried but never really got into the game.

JOAO GOMES – 5
Should have started alongside Andre. Came on in the second half but never really got going.

MATHEUS CUNHA – 4
Not much to say. Didn’t do enough to comment on, so 4 seems fair.

MARSHALL MUNETSI – 4
Same as Cunha. Too little time on the pitch to judge.

HEE-CHAN HWANG – 4
Not on long enough to make a difference.

Not a great performance overall. The first half was sloppy, with too many small mistakes we need to stop making. We never found our rhythm. It wasn’t good enough. The second half was a bit better but still below par. Bentley made some good saves but also let in two goals he could probably have saved. That didn’t help.

We never started with our strongest eleven, so who knows if that might have changed things. Overall, it wasn’t good enough.

Last away game of the season done. Next is the final home game against Brentford on Sunday.
