Watch for the full discussion on our Premier League Predictions Matchweek 23

Another week, another round of Premier League predictions, and the big question is the same as always. Are Dave and Emma actually bad at calling results, or is the league just chaos in a shiny broadcast package?

This episode from Always Wolves Fan TV has a bit of everything: a tight Week 22 scoreline, every Matchweek 23 pick laid out, a quick look at Match Bingo for the Wolves match, and a Wolves Q&A that turns into a proper chat about transfers, the FA Cup, and how many points this side can still scrape together. Ralph the dog also turns up, as you’d expect.

Week 22 results: Emma edges it again, but nobody’s claiming bragging rights

The Week 22 scoreboard didn’t exactly flatter either predictor, but it did give us a winner. Emma takes it 5-4, which nudges the overall totals to Emma on 133 and Dave on 130.

In terms of weeks won, Dave still leads the head-to-head with 11 weekly wins to Emma’s 8, but Emma is clearly closing the gap. The fun part is how it happened. Both of them were “diabolical” for most of the week, and it came down to the Monday night match to rescue any pride at all.

The moment that got the biggest reaction was Brighton 1-1 Bournemouth, a score Emma called and Dave laughed off at the time.

Week 23 Premier League Predictions: Dave vs Emma

Saturday fixtures (Matchweek 23): score picks

West Ham vs Sunderland (12:30)

Emma’s view is that West Ham will want to build on their win against Spurs, especially after a long wait for a league win (she notes they had not won since early November). She also points out Sunderland have had players away at AFCON, but they’re now back and the squad should be up to speed. Even so, Emma expects West Ham to concede, and backs the visitors to nick it.

  • Emma’s prediction: West Ham 1-2 Sunderland
  • Dave’s prediction: West Ham 1-1 Sunderland

Dave plays it a bit safer with the draw, but he’s clearly hoping Sunderland can do a job.

Burnley vs Tottenham

Emma rates Burnley as “okay defensively”, and references them getting a result against Liverpool, but also puts them in the same bucket as Wolves when it comes to struggling for goals. Spurs beat Dortmund in midweek, but their league form has not been great. That leads Emma to a draw.

  • Emma’s prediction: Burnley 1-1 Tottenham
  • Dave’s prediction: Burnley 1-3 Tottenham

Dave goes for a much more confident Spurs win. There’s also an edge of “that’s what we want” in his thinking, because a Tottenham win can help Wolves depending on where everyone sits around them. Emma even calls that out, asking if he’s picked it because he wants it to happen.

Fulham vs Brighton

Emma expects both sides to attack here. She highlights Fulham’s strong home form, quoting an average of two points per home game, which is solid. Brighton’s recent run matters too, they’re winless in their last five, with only one win in that spell. That combination screams draw to her.

  • Emma’s prediction: Fulham 2-2 Brighton
  • Dave’s prediction: Fulham 1-1 Brighton

Both are on the draw, but Emma goes for a more open game with goals.

Manchester City vs Wolves

This is the one Wolves fans will lock onto. Wolves are unbeaten in 2026, while City come into it after losing their last two in the league, although they did win in the Champions League in midweek. There’s also talk of City strengthening defensively with Marc Guéhi (from Crystal Palace) and bringing in Antoine Semenyo (from Bournemouth). They also mention Erling Haaland and his lack of goals, plus the worry that a striker like that can always “wake up” against you.

Emma wants to say Wolves can win, but she can’t bring herself to pick it. She thinks it’s just too tough, and fears Haaland ends his drought against Wolves.

  • Emma’s prediction: Man City 2-0 Wolves
  • Dave’s prediction: held back for his Thursday match preview

Dave doesn’t give his score in this episode, as he points viewers towards the separate match preview later in the week. He does make it clear that not predicting it here doesn’t mean he thinks Wolves can’t win, he just keeps the final call for the preview.

Bournemouth vs Liverpool (17:30)

Both expect Liverpool to come through, even though Liverpool only drew with Burnley last time out. Emma thinks they were a bit unlucky in that one, and still sees them as the better side than Bournemouth.

  • Emma’s prediction: Bournemouth 1-2 Liverpool
  • Dave’s prediction: Bournemouth 0-2 Liverpool

Same outcome, slightly different scoreline, with Dave taking Bournemouth out of it completely.

Sunday and Monday fixtures: where the points can swing

Brentford vs Nottingham Forest

Emma’s reasoning is based on Brentford’s home form, again using points per home game, which she says sits at two points on average. Both teams are looking to bounce back, but she leans towards a home win.

  • Emma’s prediction: Brentford 2-1 Nottingham Forest
  • Dave’s prediction: Brentford 2-0 Nottingham Forest

Dave agrees on Brentford, and as he points out, Forest losing can be useful for Wolves.

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea

Emma thinks Palace have been struggling badly for form, with no wins in their last five. She doesn’t see that turning around against Chelsea.

  • Emma’s prediction: Crystal Palace 1-2 Chelsea
  • Dave’s prediction: Crystal Palace 0-2 Chelsea

Both back Chelsea, with Dave going for a cleaner win.

Newcastle vs Aston Villa

Emma says Wolves “dealt with Newcastle quite well”, while also mentioning Newcastle have defenders out, and Villa are on a good run. That pushes her towards an away win.

  • Emma’s prediction: Newcastle 1-2 Aston Villa
  • Dave’s prediction: Newcastle 1-1 Aston Villa

Dave lands on a draw, pointing out Newcastle are better at home and should be more competitive.

Arsenal vs Manchester United (16:30)

Emma references United winning the Manchester derby and being clinical, but she doesn’t think they repeat that away at Arsenal.

  • Emma’s prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Manchester United
  • Dave’s prediction: Arsenal 1-1 Manchester United

Dave goes for a draw, leaning on the idea of a “new manager bounce”, and that Arsenal might not get it all their own way.

Everton vs Leeds (Monday night)

Emma calls Everton solid but not spectacular, with Leeds okay defensively. That adds up to another draw for her.

  • Emma’s prediction: Everton 1-1 Leeds United
  • Dave’s prediction: Everton 2-0 Leeds United

Dave backs Everton more strongly, and mentions Hill Dickinson Stadium (he calls it “a great stadium”) while going for a comfortable home win.

Match Bingo for Wolves vs Man City: £2 a card, with a £250 pot for the match

Alongside the predictions, Dave and Emma also ran through their Match Bingo pick for Wolves vs Man City. It’s a simple idea: you buy a card for the match, and your card is filled with possible in-game events. Hit a line, and you can win.

A few details they highlighted:

  • Cards cost £2 per game.
  • There’s a “buy four, get one free” option.
  • New users can get a deposit boost using the code always

Wolves Q&A: a quiet transfer window, FA Cup “magic”, and the points argument

The second half of the video shifted into Wolves chat, with questions ranging from serious to silly.

“What do you make of Wolves’ January transfer window so far?”

Emma’s answer was blunt: “Boring.”

Not because Wolves fans don’t care, but because there’s just not much happening. She noted the lack of strong rumours coming in, and that most of the talk seems to be about outgoings, mentioning names like Lopez and Agbadou, plus the idea that if players leave (and with the situation the club is in), Wolves would need to bring bodies in.

They both agreed January is hard at the best of times, and it gets harder when the league position makes recruitment a tougher sell. Emma’s line summed up the mood: “Watch this space and cross your fingers.”

“Does the magic of the FA Cup still exist?” (and Wolves vs Grimsby Town)

This question came in with a joke sender name, “H Granger” from Hogwarts, but it led to a real point. For fans, the FA Cup still has something about it. The media tends to focus on giant-killings, and Dave wondered if neutrals will be watching Wolves vs Grimsby Town hoping for an upset.

Emma’s view was straightforward: neutrals will back the underdog every time.

They both liked the idea of a cup run too, partly because the league has felt bleak. When your league season is about damage limitation, the FA Cup becomes the place where hope lives, even if it’s only for a few rounds.

“How many points can Wolves get from the final 16 games?”

This one got a hard no from Emma, at least on the spot. She didn’t want to guess without looking at the fixtures properly, and Dave kept pushing numbers anyway.

The chat landed on one outside prediction: Gabby Agbonlahor (talkSPORT) had suggested Wolves would finish on 13 points. Dave and Emma pointed out Wolves already have eight, so 13 would mean a really grim run-in.

Emma said she thinks Wolves can finish on more than 13, and more than 15 too, but didn’t want to be pinned down live. They agreed to properly do the maths next week, with both of them predicting the run-in game by game.

Ralph’s question: can he have a Wolves coat for his birthday?

Ralph the dog made his presence known all episode, and apparently he’s also putting in requests. Dave joked that Ralph asked for a Wolves coat for his birthday. Emma shut it down on timing, since Ralph’s birthday is in December and “a long way away”.

Conclusion

Week 22 went Emma’s way again, but the bigger story is how tight the overall totals are getting, and how quickly one wild scoreline can swing a whole week. Week 23 has plenty of spots for surprises too, with Wolves at Man City sitting right in the middle of it all.

If you’re playing along at home, post your Week 23 score picks and your Wolves total points guess for the season run-in. The Premier League loves proving people wrong, and that’s half the fun, until it isn’t. Always Wolves.
