JOSE SA 6.5
Solid with his distribution, no messing about, didn’t have much to do in the first half. Went on a lovely dribble in the second half and nearly undone by poor play from Podence.
NELSON SEMEDO 7
Full of running, tracking back, his passing was excellent and made some great overlapping runs. Had a solid game and showing some consistency now.
HUGO BUENO 6
Simple, straightforward performance, no chances taken. Only caught out once by a tricky winger. Caught out for the Bournemouth goal, by smart inter passing. Replaced after 61 mins by Ait Nouri.
CRAIG DAWSON 7.5 & MAN OF THE MATCH
Strong and commanding, excellent use of passing and vision. One particular challenge on him was a free kick but the ref decided no, typical. One header that we my t just over but overall he was solid.
MAX KILMAN 7
Some driving runs, simple balls to feet and no nonsense defending.
RUBEN NEVES 7.5
Up to his normal high standards, passing, tacking and tracking back. Showed great vision, determination and worked hard. Unlucky with his 2nd half volley, either side of the keeper and it would be in. Definitely carrying the midfield along at the moment.
MATHEUS NUNES 5.5
Looked a bit too complacent in the first half, two over hit passes to Traore on the wing that could have set him away. Still think he plays better in front of the back 4 but Lemina is pushing hard in that role Replaced after 61 mins by Podence.
JOAO MOUTINHO 6
Played high up at times in his more advanced roles, some good runs and control of the ball in tight areas. Corners beat the first man at last. Even got in a header that went over Not enough to impact the game as much as he can. Replaced by Gomes.
MATHEUS CUNHA 5.5
A few neat touches but he had one great opportunity to hit a first time left foot shot in the first half but took one touch too many and it was gone. Not really in the game. Missed a header after a great Traore cross, finding it difficult at the minute replaced by Costa
PABLO SARABIA 6.5
Good movement and capable of more reverse passing that can unlock the door. Looked tricky and made some good runs but not enough to trouble the defence.
ADAMA TRAORE 6.5
A willing runner, some great control and grew into the game as it wore on. Got one shot off but it was a bit weak, late on in the first half. One great cross should have been dispatched by Cunha. Replaced by Raul
RAYAN AIT-NOURI 5.5
61 mins – First foul, yellow card….? Nothing worth reporting, willing runner but lacking in the final third.
