KARL WHITEHOUSE SHARES HIS PLAYER RATINGS FOR WOLVES V LIVERPOOL
Jose Sa: 6
Hardly had much to do until the end of the first half where he flapped at a cross late towards the end and Liverpool could have scored. He had the same problems late in the second half giving the ball away from a goal kick, he should have done better this lead to the goal that gave Liverpool the lead. He needs to cut out these mistakes as it is costing us points and conceding too many goals at this stage of the season.
Nelson Semedo: 6
Was given so much space by Liverpool with his runs on the right-hand side, he made a good cross for Neto and eventually got some help with Doherty playing wide on the right in front of him for the final 30 minutes.
Max Kilman: 7
Helped out defending and shot blocking in the first half when Liverpool attacked near the end of the half. Tried his best to keep out the Liverpool attacks but he needs to be stronger in defence.
Craig Dawson: 7
Had two chances of getting a goal in the first half. One mistake in the game when he lost his man leading to a Liverpool goal.
Rayan Ait Nouri: 6
Had a mission to keep Jota quiet in the game did most of it ok but had a moment when he was out of position for the Liverpool equaliser which allowed the team to be opened up but otherwise had a good game before we lost him to injury.
Joao Gomes: 7
Pretty solid in midfield had some runs at the Liverpool defence and works well with Lemina. He broke everything up in the first half but in the second half he was bypassed after Liverpool changed their tactics.
Mario Lemina: 6
Solid performance in the game with a great block to deny Salah a goal, Kept the ball well when the team needed some respite to stop Liverpool attacks in the second half.
Jean Ricner Bellegarde: 7
Making his debut for the club causing problems for the Liverpool defence. He gives us something different in the side, running at them. Good solid performance, looked very quick and worked well with Lemina. Overall excellent debut performance, hope this is a sign of more to come from him.
Hwang Hee Chan: 6
Get a start today and proved he deserved it by scoring a goal in the opening minutes of the game. However, after the goal he faded away.
Pedro Neto: 8 (Player of the Match)
Loves the left-hand side and was fundamental in getting the opening goal of the game. Been a menace to Liverpool on the left-hand side with crosses into the box causing all sorts of problems. His best first half of football for the club, shame it didn’t carry on in the same way in the second half as he did not have many chances and runs in the game.
Matheus Cunha: 6
Had a moment when you got a perfect chance for a goal, a perfect cross from Neto but he got it all wrong and should have headed home. Was in the centre of the front three today showed some good touches and runs.
Matt Doherty: 5 (SUB)
Came on for Hwang not much to say about him today, didn’t see any of his trademark runs into the box to cause problems in the Liverpool defence.
Fabio Silva: 5 (SUB)
Came on for Cunha, tried his best to get into the game but he didn’t get much of the ball due to the domination of Liverpool in the 2nd Half.
Hugo Bueno: 5 (SUB)
Came on for Ait Nouri. Scored an own goal which came off the post where he allowed the Liverpool player, he was marking too much space to make it 3-1.
Boubacar Traore: 5 (SUB)
Came on for Mario Lemina. Came on to tighten the midfield try and keep the game at 1-0 didn’t have much impact in the game.
Thomas Doyle: 5 (SUB)
Came on for Jean Ricner Bellegarde Thrown inat the deep end when Liverpool had the complete control of the game. This game was not an ideal debut for him but did show what he can do on the pitch, but was too little too late.

I have been a Wolves fan for over 30 years. I have supported them both home and away games in the 80’s, 90’s and 00’s and now like looking into wolves games the stats behind the games they play in the premier league and also look other stats if asked by someone else in the podcast. I have also done the 92 football league grounds and shortly be doing a ebook about peoples favourite match they went to along with a match report and if possible stats from game.
