THINGS WE LEARNT FROM WOLVES DEFEAT TO LEICESTER AGAIN!

SEAN STANTON LOOKS AT THE THINGS WE LEARNT FROM WOLVES DEFEAT TO LEICESTER AGAIN

The Last time Wolves played against Leicester our trousers ended up around our ankles and our bottoms were sore for weeks.

The Foxes gave us an absolute spanking and Molineux was half empty when the ref blew the final whistle.

That 4-0 win earlier in the season moved Leicester out of the relegation zone and Wolves fans did not want history to repeat itself.

The big difference for me going into this game was that since the last meeting Wolves have upgraded our manager from Steve Davis to super Julen Lopetigue where as Leicester have downgraded from Brendan Rodgers to Dean Smith.

They also now have John “lock up your wives and girlfriends” Terry as part of their backroom staff.

Leicester obviously regarded this as a “must win” game against a relegation rival.

So what did we learn.

1 - History does repeat itself

Leicester beat us again and as a result moved out of the relegation zone…. again.

2 - Jose Sa is becoming a liability

We were cruising until Sa needlessly “took out” Vardy which resulted in a penalty and totally altered the momentum of the game.

Not only that. Sa then watched over Vardy while he was receiving treatment with a concerned look on his face and made no effort to scuff up the penalty spot or put the penalty taker Iheanacho off..

Also his goalkeeping outfit looks stupid. If you put a mask on him he could be a power ranger

3 - If you don't bring on your best impact sub (ADAMA) when you are a goal down you will probably lose.

Yep, this one was crying out for Adama!

4 - We are crap against our relegation rivals.

In the past few weeks we have drawn with Forest and have been beaten by Bournemouth, Leeds and Leicester.

With games against Palace and Everton to come that is seriously worrying.

5 - Matheus Nunes is still an enigma.

After a couple of quality performances Matheus was once again being linked with top clubs but his lackadaisical outing against Leicester, where he misplaced passes, lost possession and fell over a lot will probably put off any potential suitors, for the time being anyway.

6 - We desperately need to win our next match against Palace.

Basically. We are still in the shit.

It’s not up to our necks but it’s above our knees where as last week it was only lapping around our ankles.

I wonder where it’ll be after Tuesday.
