The Definitive Player Ratings: Wolves’ Victory Against Tottenham

CRAIG HICKEY SHARES HIS OPINIONS AND THOUGHTS ON WOLVES PERFORMANCE AGAINST SPURS

JOSE SA 8

A good solid game for Jose, his distribution was a lot better today, no tippy tappy stuff. Made some comfortable saves and one excellent stop low to his left, as he tipped it away. Debatable whether Spurs equaliser was due to him being megged, for me it should have been sorted well before that by the defence.

NELSON SEMEDO 8.5

He went about his business well today, kept Son quiet and allowed him no room to get past him. He showed he has the temperament and know how to play against the top sides. He worked hard today, especially in the second half as he was forced to defend after having a more attacking first 45 minutes.

RAYAN AIT-NOURI 8.5

Worked extremely well with Toti and Neto, produced some good passes to release Neto in behind the right back. He sat back more in the second half and backed up Toti, a solid and simple display from Rayan.

CRAIG DAWSON 8

Looked solid for most of the game, winning his battles with Richarlison. If there was a negative, it was the goal. He got an initial tackle on Kulusevski but still allowed him to drift past with a dangling foot. Maybe he was afraid of conceding a penalty if he had made contact.

MAX KILMAN 8.5

Max was back to his best today, in the right place every time, headers, tackles and simple passes from the back. He played his part in a solid, gutsy defensive display, especially after we took the lead again. Showed composure under pressure.

TOTI GOMES 8

Had to work hard today against Kulusevski and Sarr, he helped Ait Nouri during the second half pressure from Spurs and didn’t duck out of any challenges. Always in the right place, except for the goal as he lost his man, Kulusevski, who drifted past him. He gave everything today and stood up to some constant attacking down the right side.

MARIO LEMINA 8.5

Mario got stuck in as usual and helped to protect the defence. Received a few knocks for his trouble and sat in a more central role without bombing forward, this stopped Spurs from coming through the middle when attacking, Maddison being his focal point.Solid from Super Mario

JOAO GOMES 9 & MAN OF THE MATCH

This young man has been a revelation since coming to Wolves. He was brilliant today, Pitbull is certainly an adjective for his performance today. He was everywhere, scoring a lovely header from a corner and then bursting forward to support Neto for the winner, a crisp and assured finish. This was his best game in the Old Gold and for me he gets a 9!

PEDRO NETO 8.5

Pedro caused problems all game with his pace, in particular the first half where he broke down the left with Ait Nouri and created many opportunities to cross. He got another assist today, as he broke down the right side and passed to Gomes to get the winner. Ran himself into the ground again.

PABLO SARABIA 8

He showed his talent again today and how important he is to us. A lovely delivery from a corner which assisted the first goal. Two great opportunities to score himself, the second he should have put it away to be fair. Worked hard and did his defensive duties when required. An integral part of this team

HWANG HEE-CHAN 8

If you watched him closely today, you would see how much work he got through. Dragged defenders away from the centre of the pitch to create space, running into space for passes and should have got himself a goal but blazed over. He is a solid unit who doesn’t shy away from the physical side of the game. Another hard working performance

JEAN -RICNER BELLEGARDE 6

Came on for Sarabia and he should of bagged a goal after another Neto break. He cut inside when in my opinion, he should have shot with his left. He is a talent and he will improve

MATT DOHERTY N/A

Not on long enough to give a score today.
