KARL WHITEHOUSE SHARES HIS PLAYER RATINGS FOR WOLVES 2-0 DEFEAT AT ANFIELD

Jose Sa – 6.5

Showed his shot blocking by making saves that kept us in the game. There could have been more goals conceded, but he wasn’t helped by his teammates who couldn’t stop the shots that went into the net. He was so close to getting the player of the match.

Toti Gomes – 5

Struggled in the game, he could have prevented a shot from Salah.  His positioning was not as good as usual, but he had some moments of dribbling the ball second half.

Max Kilman – 5.5

Found himself in good places in the box to put in important blocks to stop more goals going into the back of the net but couldn’t do much more to stop the goals ending up in the net.

Santiago Bueno – 4.5

Was beaten in the air for the first goal by Macalister and was caught out by his weak block for the second goal. However, he will learn from his mistakes, where he needs to be more aggressive and aware to put them right for next season.

Rayan Ait Nouri – 6

His mazy runs during the game caused Liverpool problems, which were more effective in the first half. However, he was figured out in the second half when Liverpool kept a close eye on him.

Nelson Semedo – 2

Had problems from the start where Diaz caused issues on his side before the red card in the game with a needless stud challenge on Macalister, which was given as a yellow card by the referee and then upgraded to red by VAR on replays. This made it worse than it was, and he now misses three games next season.

Joao Gomes – 7 (MAN of the match)

His performances this season have been brilliant because he showed his battling qualities and use of the football, which was the best part of his game today.

Mario Lemina – 6

Won midfield battles today for the side showing his qualities and leadership on the pitch but the red card in the team meant he had to put in a real shift.

Jean Ricner Bellegarde – 5

Started in place of Sarabia who wasn’t available due to injury and was forced to play right back after the red card by Semedo. He didn’t look good in that position and was rightly taken off. Not an ideal game for him.

Matheus Cunha – 6

Showed his dribbling skills again in the side whenever he got the ball but wasn’t helped enough to make a difference in the game.

Hwang Hee Chan – 5

Had a chance on goal from a counter attacking situation with a terrible miss but was starved of service not many chances in the game.

Substitutes

Matt Doherty – 6

Came on in place of Bellegarde who was playing out of position made a difference in team but had the ball in back of net late into the game but was flagged correctly offside.

Boubacar Traore – 6

Came on for Hwang who was not having a good game to give us an extra person in midfield did ok no issues.

Hugo Bueno – 6

Came on for Ait Nouri had nothing much to do in terms of the game just made 1 tackle in the game.

Pedro Neto – 6

Came on for Cunha which was  nice to see him back after the latest injury, had a chance in the game from a freekick which was saved by the Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson late in the game.

Tommy Doyle – 5.5

Didn’t have much time to play today to make any difference or impact in the result of the game.

Manager Gary O’Neil – 6

Set up Wolves to trouble Liverpool in the game, which could have been achieved, but the red card didn’t help the cause and made the game more challenging playing with 10 men.
