With a convincing win over Deportivo Alaves, Wolves have the perfect start to their Spanish schedule.

Soon after the 20-minute mark, Raul Jimenez skillfully converted his penalty kick to start the scoring, which was later extended by Pedro Neto’s low shot just before halftime. Daniel Podence scored early in the second half with a header, and Maximilian Kilman completed the carnage with a stunning goal by sprinting from one end of the field to the other and guiding a perfectly-placed finish. Both of the halftime substitutes scored!

Bruno Lage was able to evaluate the team he has at his disposal while also using a rarely seen back four with Conor Coady and Willy Boly initially selected as the game’s two centre backs.

Next up Besiktas which is expected to be a tougher test.
