KARL WHITEHOUSE shares a little bit of history of wolves v Brighton in the fa cup

With the upcoming FA Cup match against Brighton, Karl takes a look at the history of the two clubs in the FA Cup. This will be only the third time they have faced each other in this cup competition so we take a look at a memorable victory back in 1979.

BRIGHTON 2 WOLVES 3 Tuesday 9th January 1979

FA Cup Third Round took place on Tuesday, 9th January 1979, at Goldstone Ground, with a strong turnout of 25,217 supporters cheering on the teams. The match had initially been scheduled for the 6th of January but had to be rescheduled due to the harsh Arctic Conditions prevailing in the UK at that time. Mark Lawrenson made a memorable move during the game, showcasing his skill by manoeuvring from one penalty box to the opposing team’s penalty box, ultimately outplaying Paul Bradshaw in the Wolves goal.
