LUCAS SHARMA EXAMINES WOLVES DEFEAT TO COVENTRY AND THE 5 KEY THINGS WE LEARNT

Gary O’Neil’s first ever FA Cup quarter finals as a manager will he make the semis or will Wolves bow down to their midlands rival Coventry?

Let’s look at the 5 key points we have seen from this game.

1. We”ve got a small squad

Due to PSR (Profit and Sustainability Rules) formerly FFP Wolves can’t go and buy just anyone, so they need to rely on academy graduates or loan deals. We need someone who can make an impact off the bench. Although it was a good goal for Hugo Bueno, he won’t be able to make an impact every game.

2.  Ryan Aït-Nouri in Central Midfield.

We have all seen this season this man come out of his shell to be one of the best players this season, whenever he gets the ball he’s a joy to watch,  he will show skill, sprint, hit it into the box or he will do an outstanding pass to make a goal. Considering this man couldn’t get  minutes under Julen Lopetegui he has made a name for himself this season.

3. Super Sá.

Jose Sá kept us in the game for a long time yesterday as it could have been 3-4 nil at half time if it wasn’t for José. He was demanding in his area he was ready for everything but then none of the goals were easy to save so he was the best I have seen him play in a long time.

4. Mark Robins needs to calm down

There was an unfortunate incident with Mark Robins who upset a young ball boy by celebrating in his face. It costs nothing to be gracious in defeat or victory for that matter. As I’ve just become a ball boy this is quite worrying as this could happen to me at any point. Gary O’Neil has called out his behaviour as ‘disgusting’ and Mark Robins has since apologised.

5. Nelson Semedo

This is also the best game I’ve seen Nelson play, he was determined to win the ball every time and from anyone, he was ready to pounce whenever he had to, attacked well and impressed me .
